Home Remedies for Morning Sickness Candy___: I would love if ya'll could suggest some remedies for nausea, Stuff that has worked for you. Preferably natural, As i don't want anything bad for baby, Mystical Autumn: Plain old soda crackers are your best friend. Eat them before you even get out of bed and through the day as needed. Also, plenty of water. Candy___: I have a stockpile of crackers, they seem to be the only thing that doesn't make it worse . I'll try them first thing in the morning, Thanks Tink Mystical Autumn: Don't even sit up...just nibble a few crackers before you even swing your feet around or lift your head. Mystical Autumn: Your welcome My friend swore by peanut butter...no lie. She kept the jar next to her bed with a spoon Candy___: lol, I've been hearing about the peanut butter. Something about the protein and sugar mix being helpful. The idea of peanut butter makes me sick right now though. Mystical Autumn: I never did the peanut butter thing. I like peanut butter...but I don't think I could eat it with a spoon! LOL Mystical Autumn: Hopefully you won't experience the whole first trimester I was lucky, only about 4 weeks for me. Cailynn: a cup of ginger tea. The same spicy herb is used to counter motion sickness. To make ginger tea, boil 30 grams dried root (available in health-food stores) in 1 cup water for 15 to 20 minutes, strain, and sip. • Herbal teas made with chamomile, lemon balm, and peppermint are also known to reduce nausea. Use 1 to 2 teaspoons of dried herb per cup of hot water. Avoid peppermint tea if you have heartburn, however. • Brew yourself a cup of red raspberry-leaf tea. The herb is popular for a number of pregnancy problems, including morning sickness, and has been shown to relax the smooth muscles of the uterus. Use 1 to 2 teaspoons of dried herb per cup of hot water. But with this remedy in particular, check with your doctor before taking it. There is some evidence that raspberry leaf can cause uterine contractions, so your doctor might advise against taking it later in the pregnancy or if you’re at increased risk for miscarriage. ****************************** • Drink flat, room-temperature ginger ale to settle your stomach. Although no one knows why (there’s not enough ginger in commercial ginger ale to have an effect), it works for many nauseated moms-to-be. Don’t drink ginger ale with fizz, though. The bubbles promote the production of more stomach acid—just what you don’t need. • Chew on anise or fennel seeds, which are known to soothe upset stomachs ***************************** In studies, women who took 25 milligrams of vitamin B6 three times a day (a total of 75 milligrams per day) for three days reduced nausea and vomiting associated with pregnancy. As with other vitamins, if you’re pregnant, don’t take B6 without your doctor’s consent. *********************************************** make sure u get frozen fruit bars.. so u can replace sugars lost threw puking and also drink water . in sips.. after puking so you ensure ur not deydrated Sniff a slice of lemon. Some pregnant women report that, for unknown reasons, it helps with morning sickness. ********************************************** if ur puking loads avoid things that you find your sensative too.. aka . michs gumbo .. and .. even though you mite not have been allergic to things afore your pregnancy you mite now be ... so .. stay to basic foods that arent so aromatic or flavourful till ur stomache settles down then introduce them to your diet one by one Candy___: There is b6 in my prenatal vitamins.. I don't think i can add any more than that, I have fruit bars though Michael keeps eating them And i have a bunch of juice and Gatorade to help keep my electrolytes balanced after i get sick. Are the teas safe? And i'll be sure to ask the Dr before starting anything Thank you Mystical Autumn: I wouldn't take Ginger unless you talk to the doctor and I have no idea about the other tea. ♫Jodbug♫: Try doing a hand-stand while rubbing your tummy and making a crazy face. Then, proceed with picture taking, It might not help with the morning sickness, but I'd love to see it P.S. I have no babies and I have no viable suggestions for you, but I do hope you feel much better soon and that your pregnancy gets better as you go along harlett anathema: ginger ale....settles upset stomachs....Canada Dry brand is made with 100% natural ginger....unsalted crackers... Congratulations..by the way................tell this nosey woman more.... due date etc...if you would.... DinosaysRAWR: Sweet tea. No lie not pansy sweet tea either mcdonalds sugar added with a dash of tea lol. It will calm the stomach. Salty things helped me but later it gives you heartburn. Don't get up right away in the morning. Just lay there for a little bit not only helps with nausea but you can get super dizzy. Water is your best friend through out but especially during the first and last trimester. I got completely dehydrated and that's how I even found out. Drink at least a gallon a day it seems like a lot but it helps keep the nausea at bay the less you drink the more sick you'll feel. Soda is ok during i promise but be cautious don't go over board it can dehydrate you as well. the less greasy the food the less it builds in your stomach the less you'll feel sick. sounds weird but suck on a pickle it made me feel 100x better. I think that's pretty much it if you need anything you know where to reach me Candy___: Mich makes a lot of sweet tea.I'll have to give that a try. I tried the pickle thing last night, It actually worked lol. Thanks Bree Goal for today : Drink more water. | Off Topic Chat Room Similar Conversations |
