Al Quaeda threat causes evacuation at University of Texas (Page 3) Azathoth: I wasn't referring to defense. I was speaking of offense. Being spread globally, for purposes of being "International Police" is going to lead to serious problems. And for the record: I, myself, am far from pascifist. ~LoisLane~: I think everyone should have listened to Carter in the 70's and maybe we wouldnt be in this shit storm right now. P.S Ocd, I only heard of that video a few days ago and had no idea it was around since july. Of course its very believable that people would be in an uproar about it. Didnt these same dinks threaten Seth Macfarlene? Give me a break. (Edited by ~LoisLane~) ~LoisLane~: He said to keep it in his country....I am not going to google anything and copy and paste it..I am far to lazy for that right now..He had a very good point and said we dont need other countries oil. Im sure thats what got him out of office in a hurry LOLS.... OCD_OCD: Then I would have to agree with him. We have chosen to become dependent on oil from other countries. OCD_OCD: We need the Canadian pipeline. It is a disgrace that Obama stopped it. I'd be willing to bet that if he is not re-elected, that pipeline will go through in a heartbeat. It is stupid for the US to do otherwise. How ignorant can we be? Azathoth: The oil from Canadian pipelines generally went to Louisianna to be shipped to China and other nations in need. The US stood to gain money from this, but the product wasn't totally compatible with the engines the citizens here use. Many believed it was to ween the US from foreign oil. In fact, it was a political ploy from those "many" ...most of them were oil company folks. OCD_OCD: The blast all over the media was that our eco-terrorists decried the ruination of the entire USA if a pipeline were constructed. Supposedly, we'd all be in environmental hell and damnation forever and ever from such an evil thing. Azathoth: That may depend on the media. Unfortunately, Fox News and CNN have their agendas. I neither align myself with nor support either of the 2 parties that prevail in US government. So it makes it hard for me to stomach all of the talking points that so many media markets spew. ohnonotthatguy: OCD says "" We need the Canadian pipeline"" The Obama administration didn't kill that pipeline project in any way shape or form, the Canadian government decide just to eliminate the middle man (USA) from the equation due to tonnes of rules and regulations imposed by the Bush and than Obama. Our Canadian leaders (I am thanking the Gods for the decisions) have decided to run a pipeline from Alberta to British Columbia's west coast to ship our oil to Asia and beyond, therefore cutting supplies to the USA.slowly. May I ask OCD where does USA have such oil reserves to be self sufficient if they stop kissing ass to the Saudi's and other Arab nation's for their oil? (Edited by ohnonotthatguy) ohnonotthatguy: is that your phone # cause its not allowed on Wire OCD please speak your mind but with some evidences to back it up.
