Canada is just better than the US - discuss (Page 3) Corwin: I've always wondered why we can't download a Canadian spellcheck.... but I have to admit that I have folded to the spellcheck gods, and use the American spellings when I'm here on Wireclub.... because I don't want any American to possibly assume that I have bad spelling... and those underlines just annoy he heck out of me. Wild__: We The People? The Constitution might as well read We The Stockholders Of The United Corporations Of America, in order to ordain a more profitable union... Obama care might as well have been written by the health insurance companies as they are the primary benefactors of that law. Health insurance premiums in America are going up as are profits for the health insurance providers. Perhaps ALL health insurance should be federalized. lavendar_star: I had change my spell check to standard English but something happened and it reverted back, I refuse to use the American spelling but sometimes it gets me and yes those red lines are annoying. Your speaking Russian to me Wildman, but I agree with your first statement even though after the financial crisis we are not immune to that in the UK. I personally just dont get the whole health care debate in the US all I know its free in the UK and long may it stay. Wild__: No doubt Lav. I've never been to Canada or the UK so I cant judge their systems. I can only read and learn from those who are living there. Oh and Lav... harlett: what the heck is with health insurance none sense.......office visits aren't free...diagnostic testing isn't free ,prescriptions aren't free just because you have a health insurance card......put those trillions of dollars into county hospitals and their clinic's..provide bus service too and from... lavendar_star: to you wildman, and I agree with you there, I like the way you such a reasonable man and you give Americans a good name. lavendar_star: I am going off the thread a bit, but the Scots don't pay for prescriptions but we do in England so unfair. I have to say when we debate about old people in the UK they always note that America treats its elderly very well compared to how we do in the UK. Oh intriguing Wildman. I Found The Exit: From my understanding Harlet...all that is free in Canada. However, Corvin brought up a very good point...and also one of my greatest fears. The wait. Here we make a doctors appointment and we can get in within the week (if not the next day) I personally don't want "free" health care in the USA, not if the USA is deciding who lives and dies and who gets treatment and when. harlett: get a qualified staff in every school and force children to take natural vitamins and every African child too take vitamin D...too help their bodies keep from developing all manners of other diseases...health means take care of the body and all that goes along with having one... harlett: i know that TINK.. and is why many come across the border....Too get that care immediately.. I Found The Exit: I'll give you an example. There is a member here that waited a month to get into the doctor...a month! That would never happen here, not with the injury this person had. It simply wouldn't happen under our current health care system. Not that I think our health care system is perfect...not by a long shot. (Post deleted by lavendar_star ) davidk14: . What is very interesting....Canada has the second largest land mass for a country in the world. California has more population than Canada. Canada has about 10% of the population compared to the USA. . Corwin: We're good here in Canada with doctor visits... within a day or two of booking... and if we need something more urgent, we have free-clinics all over the place that will see you immediately... and if it's an emergency, we have the Emergency Rooms at the Hospitals. The only waits are for operations... there's a waiting list for those... unless it's an emergency operation, like an Appendix, for instance, and you will be in-and-out in an hour. I Found The Exit: AND Harlet is 100% correct. It is the middle class that will pay. The high income has insurance. The low income does too (paid via the government) It is the middle class that is suffering. The Government (imo) wants to lower all middle class to a low class ranking and they WANT us to depend on them. harlett: i am not arguing against giving health care... i am arguing show me the care by forcing health insurance costs upon folks...i am all for a renovating health insurance, medicare & medicade.. but at least call a pot a pot... for crying out loud... fking take money out of a working person's paycheck to pay for another person health insurance.. which doesn't mean free office visits.. testing where does that dime come from...........where are those darn dimes gonna come from.......when those folks start waging those cards.............money be better spent in county hospitals... and clinics open too all............... I Found The Exit: That's what Dots was talking about Harlet. The middle class is being pushed out. We can't go higher...we can only go lower. BUT... dammit...we count! We are the backbone of this society. With out the middle working class...the USA would be nothing! (Edited by I Found The Exit) I Found The Exit: The rich and the poor benefit from all our hard work.
