Taylor Hawkins -- Tributes

Mz Demeanor
Mz Demeanor: RIP Taylor.

"One of these days your heart will stop and play it's final beat" - These Days (those words are beyond eerie to think of now)

What a fkn shock to hear the news of Taylor's death. For me, he is in my top 5 of best drummers ever, along with Neil Peart, John Bonham, Dave Grohl and Sheila E. That's a pretty short list. And now only two of those are alive.

But ....not only was Taylor a great drummer. He also sang a few Foo Fighter songs and sang covers of many songs. Hell. He even sang a Led Zeppelin song in front of Robert, Jimmy & John when they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. And Taylor also was involved in other bands and other music projects besides Foo Fighters. And he was a husband and father of 3 children and was Dave Grohl's best buddy, partner in crime and "brother from another mother" as Dave called him in his book "The Storyteller". Roger Taylor said "He was, my wife called him, sunshine in human form." Geddy Lee wrote "A sweetheart of a man that radiated good vibes, a love of music, and a total monster on the drums." This guy was loved by so many people.

I just keep seeing tributes of love and admiration for Taylor that I want to share
This forum is intended to share anything about Taylor Hawkins: music, interviews, tributes, etc.

I will start by posting this from the last show he played:

Mz Demeanor: I know he's no Freddie Mercury but I truly love the passion he puts into this song.

Mz Demeanor: Love this song and how well it worked for during the pandemic but now it fits for the loss of Taylor.

LoisS: I remember this and it was beautiful and yes fitting for this somber occasion.
I havent been through all the videos yet but how sweet when people do a little tribute to someone in their business whether they knew them or not. The appreciation you can have for someone you dont even know but you were allowed to be exposed to some of their genius.

Mz Demeanor: And Nancy Wilson wrote on her FB Page:

FUCK, this hurts! My brother Taylor is gone? I cannot believe or understand this.
I was so lucky to work with him at his awesome studio, and he was surely eccentric only in the best and most hysterical way.
Nobody is going to be OK for a long time.
Not his gorgeous family or his gorgeous brotherhood of a true rock band Foo Fighters. I love you—Party in the angel ballroom

Mz Demeanor: Tribute from the Grammys. BTW the Foos won 3 awards which makes them the band/group that has won the most Grammy's: 15 in total.

Mz Demeanor: This is gold. Dave's voice was fucked up and Taylor ends up taking over for him and Taylor sings "I don't know the fuckin words but I'm singing it anyway". It's around 2:14 into the song.
