Turn It Up! (Page 4)
Mz Demeanor: New Foo Fighters
I think it has something to do with their movie coming out called Studio 666.
Re: “The End” by the Doors
My thoughts: It isn't just a song, it's a cathartic, Dionysian experience!
Re: Concrete Blonde
Concrete Blonde, now that's a name I haven't heard in a longggggg time, as Obi-Wan Kenobi might put it. They had some cool stuff. My favorite: “Mexican Moon.” Johnette Napolitano's voice is so vodka thick and late night steamy that she imports layers of meaning to every word. Talent.
Best line: “Oh amigo / Here we do things slow / Money, art, a broken heart / Where did you want to go?”
Re: Sade “No Ordinary Love”
Sade also has a great voice, so much of something. In a word: exotic. And in the live version of “No Ordinary Love,” one gets a truly electrifying performance of an elegant and sexy song. I love it when the guitars kick in at about 1:34; I love the lighting; and I love Sade's impassioned stage performance. Cool stuff. Definite diamond life.
Fav line: “There's nothing like / You and I / Baby.”
Mz Demeanor: ^^^ That was pretty good!! I'm not a big fan of hers but she does an amazing job with that one!
Mz Demeanor: 80s indulgence time. Haven't heard this song in quiet awhile but heard it this morning on two different radio stations. It does have a certain energy to it!
Mz Demeanor: And speaking high energy. Who would have thought a couple of cellists could rock out like this, eh?
LoisS: Yes Miley has been killing it lately with the covers. Her voice is so different.
Sometimes youre just in the mood for some Bon Jovi, I get it. He's pretty sexy. *eyebrows up*
I just listened to something like that with these two dudes playing Nothing Else Matters. It was really nice.
I mean...whoa. This guy was crazy good. I know because I usually hate this song. I love when people do "impromptu" stuff like this.
Mz Demeanor: Holy shit! That guy singing Creep was fantastic! What a set of lungs and all the nuances of the song were just amazing!!!
Mz Demeanor: And Nothing Else Matters was awesome too. That song translates to classical music in a heartbeat. Just a great song and that was a great performance!
Mz Demeanor: Check out this cover of Creep from American Idol. A completely different take on the song. He turned it into a Crooner Special and didn't do it too much harm.
LoisS: I will try to find the version of *Creep* way back when that show *Rockstar SuperNova was a Tv show. As I am typing I found it. I dont know I guess watching it back now it wasnt bad esp if you like the song. But honestly I couldnt stand this fool.
Oh and shout out to Gilby Clarke and his sexy self.! I was actually coming to put up a video of Tommy lee funny enough.
LoisS: This video was so adorable and had to be shared. Not really a "Turn it up" moment but worth the watch all the same
LoisS: Let there be sound, and there was sound
Let there be light, and there was light
Let there be drums, there was drums
Let there be guitar, there was guitar
Oh, let there be rock!
Mz Demeanor: I liked that Rockstar Supernova show. The person I liked the most was Dilana. She was pretty damn cool. I didn't mind Lucas though.
