new music cloudygrey33: If I bought two albums right now, which two would you suggest? (Need new music ...Or old music that I haven't heard yet... Whatevs.) (Just please no pop country...thanks) (No offense to people who like pop country) cloudygrey33: Just found Aimee Mann Lost in Space, Dream Theater Live concert, Patsy Cline's Greatest Hits, and Miles Davis Sketches in Spain at at cheapo little used shop for like 15 bucks or so... Not too shabby. Stoked about the Patsy Cline- Was just thinking last week... Why don't I have any Patsy Cline? Thanks, universe. islandgirl7700: pbs just had a week long series bout country music and its origins...patsy cline was mentioned .....…. the carter family was beginning of country music frm the Appalachians. islandgirl7700: cowboy junkies frm Canada is an old grp .... i like them..... they do a good song of blue bayou ..... i saw them in concert in san Diego (Edited by islandgirl7700) cloudygrey33: Oh yeah- Definitely familiar with cowboy junkies and the carter family... Thanks for reminding me of the CJ's ... Will look in to their albums a little more in depth. islandgirl7700: check out the band....the black kids.... its my cousins band …. not really my kind of music ...but they are known more in Europe than here in America.... they been on the letterman show.. had a hit ….i don't want to teach your boy friend how to dance....was featured on the glee.... the blonde gal is my cousin . cloudygrey33: Just looked them up Smoone --- Did you know the lead singer is kind of Christian-y? Makes me rethink the lyrics. I think she is describing a dark night of the soul and those voices that tell you you're not good enough or that make you doubt. Interesting post. Thanks! Emma McGann: A song that the sky has no limit but that we humans slowly face our end and how much we refuse death we will die one day cloudygrey33: Oh- You're the lead singer of this band? Well holy cow. Cool deal! You're super talented! Thanks a lot for sharing your music! And yes-- Death is inevitable. I just felt like Thanos saying that. Sorry if I was off base on my interpretation of your song btw! cloudygrey33: Wow what?!? Did another professional musician just plug their own stuff on this thread? What is even happening right now? Is this real life?! Thanks Chrissy... You're also exceptionally talented! Totally relate to the words of this one... Definitely appreciating the new music being posted here... Who's next? Jack White? Yes, Jack, I did buy the new Raconteurs album. I'm diggin' it a lot, btw! cloudygrey33: Lovin' the Shpongle Sacred. Yes Chrissy-- Very true. I may or may not resemble that remark... (Edited by cloudygrey33) cloudygrey33: Lois-- I'm pretty sure everyone on planet Earth is offended by either version at this point. We could probably have a giant war all about what version Baby It's Cold Outside is the least offensive, and it would turn in to full scale Armageddon within hours! ...I like the original better in terms of the song itself. The performance and that old school vibe...Nothing compares! But I definitely see how some people may find it a bit rape-y and weird! I think the new version is a bit vomit-inducing, though I understand why they felt the need to do it. Sometimes John Legend is a bit too much of a legend in his own mind! There is hypocrisy on every side of the coin... Everybody is full of shit on some level, myself included. Although I will say- If it is too cold outside, anybody at my house can do whatever they want. Stay. Go. Really .... If you've had too much to drink, just don't drive. I'll get you a cab, if need be. Or sleep on the couch ... Need a blanket?! Ok! A bowl of soup? I mean I can prolly find you something! It's all good!!! Just please don't puke on my stuff! UFO--- Thanks for sharing! That's bad ass! I kinda wish someone would have spiked my drink like Baby It's Cold Outside just so I could listen to Deltron 3030 and feel too weird to go home. |
