BEATLES KICK ASS (Page 3) Stinks_theSockPuppet: I never really got into any of the solo stuff. A little from all of them was good, but nothing like what they were as a group. Certainly, though, none of them were failures as solo artists. TofuMacca: ^^ Truesay. But I happen to like more of Paul's solo stuff and Wings after the seperation of The Beatles. I love their music though. kmzu21: Yeah, I guess...but I don't feel all artists are put on the pedestal John Lennon is. That happens when people are murdered. Look at John Kennedy. kmzu21: No man releases movies and music post mortem. Besides, he was wearing shoes that were put on the market after his death in one of his videos. I love a good conspiracy theory. There's too much fun to be had in being contrary. Stinks_theSockPuppet: Not that I have any clue who Tupac is anyway. Rap isn't exactly my thing. And to bring things full circle, I wonder if Lennon would have worked with any rappers. kmzu21: To get back on subject, I think Frank Zappa would hold John Lennon's head under water given the chance. Nevermind the fact that they made music together or that they are both dead, I just love that man. Maybe I should start my own post. Stinks_theSockPuppet: You know, I never got Zappa. Not to show my lack of musical depth or anything. rockercultman: the Beatles, the greatest band from all the times, there will never be any musicians like them, they changed the music forever, they're the new classical music, and if you don't believe it,just see as they capture the new generations with the game BEATLES ROCK BAND,and the new remasterization from their albums. kmzu21: Rocker, you are a dummy. If there was another band like the Beatles, would they be credited with being great? They made some sounds a lot of people liked, but other than that...get the eff over it. Many people have created better and more complicated music. kmzu21: P.S. I've played the Beatles' Rock Band, and it is ridiculously simple. People everywhere are disappointed by it. They buy it because of the Rock Band franchise, not the Beatles' franchise. RYAN_HARRISON: The beatles are amazing, I've seen paul mccartney live like 5 times, I love that guy my biggest music inspiration, john lennon, ringo star and george harrison also amazing hearty111: Luck you......you got to see PAUL 5 times... He doesn't come to Canada that much, mostly he goes to USA. Hopefully I will see Paul once in my life time. struanrobertson02: Irrelevant. But just to inform you's, The Beatles are definitely a legendary band and very talented. And had a outstanding amount of influence. No doubt. But KraftWerk are given the medal and crown for most influential Band. struanrobertson02: @Rockercultman. A little far fetch. Not the greatest, but one of them. Anyway, we can all agree that John Lennon and Sir Paul McCartney are some of the greatest singers and songwriters of all time. barryornothing: No offense struanrobertson02, but if you honestly believe that Kraftwerk, whom I've liked very much since the 1970s (Autobahn), are "more influential" than The Beatles, you simply have not done enough homework or research. It's like saying a synthesizer or sequencer is "more influential" than Bach or Beethoven. Some of you kids should open up a textbook, or at least go to Wikipedia before you start using words like "influential." What works for you personally does not necessarily reflect how the whole world works. struanrobertson02: I would've had little problem with your statement on the beatles being more influential, but you are showing ignorance by calling me a kid. Anyhow, All though, not done by themselves. They helped create Electronic music and madly populised it, they also sort of started Hip Hop music. Or atleast made one of the first Hip Hop songs ever. You can theorise that the Hip Hop DJ's in USA back then were influenced by Afrika Bambaataa, who made a more HiP Hoppish version of Trans Europe Express. Also I'm pretty sure in some cases KraftWerk helped populise pop as well. | Music Chat Room 19 People Chatting Similar Conversations |
