what is the best album ever? KidBlaze98: That's hard for me to answer. Personally I think that Nas's Illmatic is the greatest hip hop album of all time but that's just me. Not everyone digs every genre so it's impossible for there to be a very best album of every genre. Keas: I would say Alice, by Tom Waits. Definately NOT an album to drink to, but beautiful in its own right! thememoryflowered: how can you narrow it to just one??? I love so many, blood on the tracks by Dylan, man i'll never forget the first time I heard that album, I love 'up' by REM, some of the most figurative lyrics ever written on there...from a musical point of view tubular bells was a revelation, alot of ELO's stuff is underrated...Nevermind by Nirvana was important, despite not really sounding that great. Ziggy Stardust has some of my favourite songs on it but if I had to choose one as being definitively the best it's hard to look beyond sgt.pepper I guess. charles7777: Pink Floyds dark side of the moon, fleetwood mac's rumours, Nirvana's nevermind & Metallica ŊดƗดş: Hard to top some of the previous posts.. Jane's Addiction - Nothing's Shocking Nirvana - Nevermind RHCP - Blood,Sugar,S@~ Magic struanrobertson02: A bit late. Hopefully this can be resurrected, possibly. Here they are: Tool - Lateralus Nas - Illmatic Lowkey - Soundtrack Of The Struggle Converge - Jane Doe Machine Head - The Blackening Gojira - From Mars To Sirius Faith No More - Angel Dust Evanescence - Fallen Nirvana - Nevermind Metallica - Master Of Puppets The Beatles - Sgt Pepper A Tribe Called Quest - Low End Theory KraftWerk - AutoBahn Daft Punk - Discovery Pink Floyd - Animals Pink Floyd - Meddle Pink Floyd - Piper At The Gates Of Dawn Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon Genesis - Foxtrot Yes - The Yes Album Queen - A Night At The Opera Iron Maiden - Number Of The Beast Iron Maiden - Power Slave David Bowie - The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders From Mars Slayer - God Hates Us All Audio Slave - Audio Slave Led Zeppelin - II Led Zeppelin - Physical Graffiti Led Zeppelin - III Joey Bada$$ - 1999 Q-Tip - The Renaissance The Rolling Stones - Exile On Main Street The Rolling Stones - Let It bleed The Who - Quadrophenia Violent Femmes - Violent Femmes I honestly could go on, just these are some of the greatest (Or at least, what I've heard). Anyway, greatest Album? That is one very extremly sophisticatedly hard question. I don't know, but I'd say the Greatest famous album would be Animals, or if not, Dark Side Of The Moon (Arguably.) Oh and I'll keep adding to this list over time. (Edited by struanrobertson02) struanrobertson02: And when Tool's new album comes out, it will maybe top all of these albums. Yes, even Animals, Dark Side, Lateralus and Exile. But ya know, time will tell. Tool have probably been the best at constructing magnificent albums of such great and vast quality, since the millennium. And they've been given 10 YEARS, to make this one. Surely they should have more than one brilliant album coming out soon. Oh, not familiar with tool? If not, and now interested, I'd listen to Lateralus or Aenima. Both are terrific masterpieces that topple many Pink Floyd albums, which anybody would agree, is an huge accomplishment. (Edited by struanrobertson02) struanrobertson02: Oh and, ehm. The Holy Gift version of Lateralus is even better than Lateralus. Better sequenced on harmony and lyrics. Wonderbunny: For Your Pleasure by Roxy Music - There's not a bad track on it. Or Dark Side Of The Moon by Pink Floyd - Superb | Music Chat Room 30 People Chatting Similar Conversations |
