Best rock guitarist (Page 8) srbiddy09: Umm, Matthew. This forum is supposed to be about the best guitarists, NOT the best magicians. That being said, I really like David Blaine. trappertodd: So many guitarists that knock me out. But must say Alice Cooper had the best anecdote to back up his assertion Jeff Beck was the King of the Mountain. Saw him in some hockey arena just one show of so many, Beck was holding his strat down by the body and opened hand and let guitar fall a couple inches grabbed and hit a note repeated until he was holding neck of the guitar right by the headstock. Found each intended note as it descended, perfectly. All the while looking elsewhere. All by feel and timing. Cool shit. longpigchef: I certainly agree there. Don't know why, just never cared for them or Metallica. Even though they were considered the prime example of their genre, which happens to be my favorite genre. WessDime: I know what u mean Bud, I dont on,y like Pantera, I like megadeth, DT, machine head, Symphony X, slayer..... radcoffebean: Well George and Carlos are brothers the have played together many times the make albums together like Santana brothers Dhorus: You have to include Zappa in the conversation. Although Zappa's gift is pretty much obscured by his chosen genre - that of the not too serious. Dhorus: And Glen Campbell if you must! I've never really been that impressed with shredding. As notes are played together more quickly it starts to approach a whining noise. Give me the notes! Ever notice how some of the greatest guitar pieces are simple embellishments of the scales? Like Pretty Woman? Day Tripper? Satisfaction? Simplicity is the key to beauty. | Music Chat Room 26 People Chatting Similar Conversations |
