Best rock guitarist (Page 6) gem5: Keep it up Kyle. There is really no one best guitarist, they all have different styles which to their own right is best of what they do. So on that note I can't come to a conclusion who is best. Heres one of my cover: Pot Head Pixies: My favorites are (in no particular order): Jimi Hendrix, Frank Zappa, Jeff Beck, Robert Fripp, Fred Frith, Robin Trower, Kim Simmonds, Phil Manzanera, Leslie West, Steve Hackett, Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Phil Miller, Jorma Kaukonen, Jimmy Page, Wes Montgomery, Eric Gale, Ralph Towner, John Abercrombie, James Blood Ulmer, George Benson (CTI) dennygringo56: Inside the minor pentatonic box I would say Satriani. Outside of it, Malmsteem. But there are blues players like Joe Bonamassa that are equally great in their own genre. At the end of the day, Hendrix and Clapton deserve their kudos for pioneering things, as does Ritchie Blackmore and Steve Howe. Iommi is the godfather of goth. What else. Oh, let's not forget Van Halen and Vai. Then there is little old me taking refuge in Honduras for the time being. dennygringo56: RosannaBR, Jeff Beck of course. But there are so many. I also forgot to mention the one and only Mark Knopfler. And, if you stray from the Rock genre from time to time, you'll here about others like Al DiMeola, Paco DeLucia, etc. But Jeff Beck, YES. dennygringo56: Absolutely Rosanna. I met McLaughlin when he was with Mahavishnu Orchestra. Eric Johnson is another one. dennygringo56: Rosanna, you must be a guitarist yourself. And let's not leave out the one man who influenced many: Che Atkins. dennygringo56: Great Rosanna! I try to spread myself around all genres. At the moment I'm polishing up my rendition of J.S. Bach's Bouree in E minor. I'm primarily Rock oriented but as long as folks are excelling on the axe, I'll dig their style. Another name you'd appreciate: Roy Buchanan. jgangsta_bakagin: hu karez hu b da bes comparin gitaristz iz lik comparin peesez ov shit gitarz b fo crackaz MeTaLsCoT: I have to say, had what happened to jason becker no happened then he would probably be one of the best today. Hes still a fantastic composer though struanrobertson02: To many, so it's hard. I can name a ton, but maybe, just maybe. Guthrie Govan or Paul Gilbert? Although I doubt it. Anyway, Hendrix is the most greatest legendary guitarist of all time. metalbass51: The Guitar player I played with Jon5-(4 string master of Disaster )-Jon 5 is barnone the best metalbass51: I played with him for 8 yrs,,,,Jon5,,,,Randy Rhodes,,,is awesome,,steve vai,,,Zak wylde,,,there alot,,,,I Played with Jon5 wow metalbass51: The Guitar player AcDc,,A.Young,,,,is not even average, ,,but he has money,,,,the music is so basic,,,,but everybody like different stuff ,all good | Music Chat Room 23 People Chatting Similar Conversations |
