metallife: What do you think about doom? what subgenre do you like most and what is your fav. bands?


I like death/doom most of atmospheric and black metal influences.
aand my favourites are : NOvembers doom, Swallow the sun, Aura_Hiemis,
Daylight Dies, Desire , Doom-VS , Evning, Sarkus and etc

j0ani: I like doom, but if i am gonna listen to doom, it needs to be doom with gothic lyrics such as Theatre Of Tragedy, Draconian, Tristania, The Sins Of Thy Beloved.

Tristania is my favourit band overall bands there is, Thay are all legends.. but tristania is more into gothic metal tho, onloy soem songs can be rated as doom

kutekara: Of course they are great. Just everybody (well the majority) love Sabbath, especially Doom fans. Plus stuff like Trouble and all that. The classic doom sound is something most enjoy

neckbroke_jamez: well i like doom....although i do hate that sometimes doom and stoner are clumped together. I like the mighty nimbus,crowbar,sabbath of course. as far as it goes i think these are considered more stoner but i also like clutch and corrosion of conformity. i like alot more but im a bit tipsy and nothing else comes to mind right away.

God Dethroned: aNATHEMA and tHERGOTHON are the two doom metal bands I'm most familiar with.

Iris Goessens: Agalloch, November's Doom, Agathodaimon, My Dying Bride, Katatonia, Draconian, Moonspell, Saint Vitus, Orange Goblin, Burning Witch, Neurosis, etc.....

Fog Swept Glade: Didn't Agalloch do a fake Bethlehem or was I just being finnessed by trash again?

Owl Pacino: Astheme from Ukraine and Moat Hug from Greece are my recent favorites.

Iris Goessens: Agalloch is more a blackened folk metal band with a doom metal touch but so are a lot of bands which combine styles.
