Lets all discover some new MUSIC!!!

BiLLy
BiLLy: I'd like to use this forum, as a way for people to post links to songs by artists that aren't largely recognised, so that along the way we can all broaden our musical horizons.
Music is very important to me, and I'm always up for learning of new bands or artists.
This group, Röyksopp, are a Norwegian electronic music group. And in my humble opinion, are amazing.
Let me know what you guys think, and please post some not so famous tunes - lets see if we can make them famous!!!

FossilGenera: i just listened to this song. i havent heard it in quite awhile so i thought id share it because its pretty damn awesome.

Chino says he came up with the idea while drunk in the bathroom of the Hollywood Hills house where White Pony was recorded. - "It was probably 5 in the morning - we were still up partying - and I just pictured this whole scenario of having this girl, bringing her downstairs and taking a bath and like, out of nowhere, just reaching back and . . . electrocuting - basically throwing some kind of electrical device in the bathtub and then taking her out of the bath and drying her off and putting her clothes back on."

KidBlaze98: The Roots is probably one the best bands to come out in the last ten years (yeah, I know they've been out a little longer than that but they didn't really started to get good until 1999).

FossilGenera:

God knows I've longed to feel something but now's not the time.
I'm caught up in the heartless disorder of a Friday night.
Focused on staying distracted until I lose sight of the tiresome and clinical patterns of my life.
I will cherish this love for the rest of my night.
One day I'll find myself facing the firing line.
Serves me right.
For the record I've written my crimes.
I will cherish this love for the rest of my night.

Lord have mercy on my soul.
I've had a good run but I can't run anymore.
Just put me down.
Lord have mercy on my soul.
I've had a good run but I can't run anymore.
Just put me down.
Can't sidestep the long arm for too long with this paper trail.
I've let them devour my heart for some material.
But I'm a drunkard, a coward, a crook. I ought to change my ways.
Face the music. Carry the can. Etcetera. Etcetera.

What next?
There's got to be something more than this.
Trust me, I'm still with you somewhere. I just wish it was here.
Someday I'm bound to feel guilty but now's not the time.
I'm sure I'll get what I'm due.
Everything will be fine.
Hell bent on finding the next fix in the fog.
You're in a cab on the way to your house. Change the locks.
I will cherish this love for the rest of the night.

KidBlaze98: Not bad, not bad at all
Well, while he's not exactly unknown, Buju Banton is still very under appreciated. He's one the best Reggae music art after Bob Marley. Almost every single song he's done is flat out incredible. If you like Reggae you should check him out if you haven't already

Ooh, what else can i do
Ooh, what else can i do
Ooh, face in a screw
Ooh racing to prove
You never remember
The blossom sender
Still in a Rub A Dub style

Long time you don't know what I'm doin' Whoa
Long time see troubles are brewin' yeah

Stick to the way you rock it and know that
you'll cope with that
Not gonna let it sit till i say, "how dope was that"
Keep your head pumpin' till you get in the zone
not giving up, not going home

Stick to the way you rock it just do it real slow
Nobody can really say cuz nobody really know
only thing that matters if it's funky to you
You got a choice of what you can do

Robot_Fox: Heres a sample of some great music, The Avalanches are bit well known and Johnson & Jonson (Blu) is an epic writer when it comes to rap.

The Avalanches -Frontier Psychiatrist

Also check out, Since I left You, the music video made me cry at the end.

Johnson & Jonson -Bout It Bout It

I always have this song on replay nowadays, the beat, the lyrics, everything works in perfect harmony. A west coast beat for you.

KidBlaze98: Thanks for the links Robot_fox. I'm always looking for new more "underground" hip hop. I just found this remix and I'm loving it. It's Old School Sonic The hedgehog music and The Fresh Prince, how could you go wrong?

NIKURA
NIKURA: I watched everything that was posted previously. Here's my opinions...

Royksopp - Love this song! I'm sure Radio1 have been pushing this one/a remix of it recently.
Default - Cool dual vocals. Bit "nickelback" for me.
Deftones - S^@
Ellis Paul - Vocals remind me of Phil Collins. Nice! I liked!
The Roots - Slightly repetitive. Kept waiting for some awesome bass to kick in... and it didn't. Still... funky! The second song was waaaay better! Cool!
Every time I Die - I need to hear more from them, they sound like my kinda thing!
Chevelle - Another I need to go and hear more from. Awesome! Very good!
Smoking Popes - Cool. Reminds me Fountains of Wayne's stuff.
Baju Benton - Gorgeous voice! Looooove it!
311 - Seen them live. They're so awesome!
S~% Ed - wtf lol
The Avalanches - Heheh! I like this!
Johnson & Jonson - Not bad! I'm not normally into hip hop but this was ok.
The Fresh Prince of Tidal Tempest - LMFAO I love Fresh Prince!
Perfume - Japanese Electropop = WIN.

My contribution...
This song always gets me dancing!
Wait for it to kick in - it's awesome!

Robot_Fox: Heres my Indie and Others Post (Mostly Indie)

Vampire Weekend -Oxford Comma

Im sure everyone has heard of them but this is just for those who have yet to hear them (which I find impossible), lyrics are very smart and simple which is why I enjoy them.

Passion Pit -Sleepyhead

One of their most famous songs, I however enjoy "Better Things"

The Mae Shi -Run To Your Grave

WTF, lol jk. Beautiful distorted electronics couple with craving synthesizing makes for beautiful imo.

Beach House -Used To Be

Victoria Legrand with her breathy-soulful-singing in this accoustic session. Check out Gila, Heart of Chambers and Norway as well, very good shtuff.
