What's your favorite movie, and why? (Page 3)

thezman60: well i have two that i like they are older films but still great. The Sound of Music, im not a big fan of musicals but its a great story of WW2. The other is the Forbidden Planet, the frist big budget Scifi movie it showed what scifi movies could be if given the money and the story to work with

Up The Anti: Rocky (the first one), since it was a story of a bum who went the distance with the World Heavyweight champion, and Gotta Fly Now kinda makes you wanna do excercise at 3 a.m

rkr4life: Too many to name really but i constantly come back to The Patriot with Mel Gibson... Action, depth, drama, some frightfully good performances by children and a slight history lesson in the mix. LOVE IT! plus i know a movie is good when i don't mind watching repeated times...@robin1517...Black Swan was terrible on so many levels i find it strange that you would included it with a work as awesome as shaw shank redemption!!!! I'll plan my day around it if i know it's going to be played on tv lol

Nataline: "Funny Girl". great actors and great actresses. it's a musical with good songs and a great story. it's a classic, if you're into broadway, music, talented singers, and funny movies with a sad ending there's no way you couldn't like it.

Remykuro: V for Vendetta. For me it works on many levels. First it works as a revenge story and second it works as an examination of government control.

Bytr: Best Movies I've watched are TiMER, Source Code and Awake for recent releases.

Gringolet: If I really thought about it....The Thief and The Cobbler. It's a really weird animated movie. I used to watch it with my friend every time she came over back in elementary school. It's not the best movie ever but it's really entertaining.
