The great war movie you ever saw.. (Page 4)
Koko_Krunch: 'Kagemusha and Ran are both great movies.'
+1000 Internets for the mention of Kurosawa.
Also Seven Samurai and Yojimbo - which also portrayed a war of sorts, fought by one man against the despotic claims of two groups of bandits.
All movies that were ripped off by Hollywood, a la 'Magnificant Seven' & 'A Fistful of Dollars'
lostnthenight: Best war thingy i ever saw was a series, Band of Brothers, but movie wise i would say Thin red line or the newest Harts war.
IamEggman: Dont know if i would class Yojimbo as a war movie..brilliant film though.
And to be fair Ran is ripped off from King Lear.
~LoisLane~: Its not the "greatest" war movie but I have always liked it. Good cast.
uglycow10: there were some great war movies but I am a seniimentalist and love the old ones.....I would have to say...."From here to eternity" with Audie Murphy
R E B E C C A: thats a matter of opinion thats not what i got from the film zulu.
i havent seen zulu dawn
another good one, "one against the wind"
Cathme: Fury. Powerful war story following a tank and its team. The only War movie up to this date that made me feel really, really touched by the war in its true but tragic form.
Godwhisperer: The "War Room" is my choice of the best war movie ever, spiritual battle at its most basic understanding, fighting the war on your knees in prayer.
