Also Seven Samurai and Yojimbo - which also portrayed a war of sorts, fought by one man against the despotic claims of two groups of bandits. All movies that were ripped off by Hollywood, a la 'Magnificant Seven' & 'A Fistful of Dollars' lostnthenight: Best war thingy i ever saw was a series, Band of Brothers, but movie wise i would say Thin red line or the newest Harts war. IamEggman: Dont know if i would class Yojimbo as a war movie..brilliant film though. And to be fair Ran is ripped off from King Lear. ~LoisLane~: Its not the "greatest" war movie but I have always liked it. Powerful war story following a tank and its team. The only War movie up to this date that made me feel really, really touched by the war in its true but tragic form.
