A different sort of marriage.... deacon7771: I just read something that sparked my interest, a different sort of marriage. Supposedly, there is somewhere in Asia, (India? China?) that is seeing a new marriage arrangement allowing a wife to have two husbands, her first husband she lives with on the weekends, but for the five working days of the week she lives with her second husband who is sort of her employer as well as husband. She does the wife thing on weekdays, including sleeping with her husband there, but she returns to her first husband on the weekends. Any sort of arrangement can work, if all the people involved are the right sort of people, and I was curious and would like to read other's opinions and thoughts of this. If you are a man, married or not, would you accept this? Have your wife go to her employer's home Monday through Friday, and then come home to you on the weekends? Or maybe would you be OK with being the employer? Would you be willing to have a weekday wife who you would pay, she would be "your wife" for you, do the wife things (keep house, cook, etc.) and you even enjoy her as a wife in the bed, and then have your weekends to yourself? If you are a woman, married or not, how do you see this arrangement? Is it just an employment or job for the wife? Is it something you like or dislike?  unkmatt18: id be open to such concepts, change is good for the soul. jealousy is over rated. monogamy is something people invented to hide something.  emnot: i think this arrangement would be more of an issue for my husband than it would be for me depending of course on who the other man was deacon7771: @emnot, so you are saying that you yourself could do this sort of marriage, but your husband would probably have trouble with it. What do you believe his objections to it would be? That he wanted you all seven days of the week? (Does he, or any man NEED his wife every day?) He might feel more accepting of the idea if he understood that his wife would be paid for her being "married" to another man Monday through Friday.  anthonythomas1905: That wouldn't fly with my wife either way she would say that would be disgusting but she would want Sister Wives what's the sense in that ?????? deacon7771: @anthonythomas1905, So, you say your wife COULD tolerate "sister wives" but would not go for this "wife for hire" sort of thing. Odd, seems a bit out of balance, but there have been many cultures that condone one man having more than one wife, this wife with two or more husbands is much rarer I will have to say. Still, things are changing, and I am just trying to understand this recent thing that seems to be catching on.
