PureSilver67: Oh OBJ ... that's NO fun ... no wood smell, no wood-marshmallow taste .... trust me, I can keep the fire in the "pit" ...

Outbackjack: Believe it or not we have tried it.It kind of works.

Cant have fires during fire season.The satellites immediately detect them and before you know it a heap of rangers are descending on you.

PureSilver67: Yeh .. I know. Am a country gal I have a respect for my environment OBJ ... I wouldn't put it at risk to roast a few marshmallows ... and who said it had to be in fire season any way???

the girls and I had a fire on the Nullabor .. at a rest stop ... was great. The rest of the time, was gas. Pretty good at one pot wonders

Maybe you have a "secret" want to be descended upon (hmm may have to think that phrasing lol).... well by Rangers ..

PureSilver67: Eh anyone out there got good camping weather ???? I love rain, but not to camp in and we're getting plenty at the moment. Just hoping it's enough to prevent any drought and not so much that it floods again (like beginning of this year).

Marvin at work: Snow is over for the moment, it’s raining all the time. Not so good for camping, not so good for anything.

Diamond_Rose: nope it not good for camping with it rain or snow.I am going camping when spring comes.Not right now with it raining and snowing or being so cold and not in Christmas time.

PureSilver67: Ah yes, that's right ... of course it's getting much colder and in many areas there is/ will be snow in the Northern Hemisphere ....

abuarijal: for me ,in my country its ll be nice to go out for camping in the open area bz my lover country is amazing it has a variates of the nature. u ll find nice desert ,highest mountains also amazing woods .u can go any where u want if ask me where is ur country ?i ll answer its Fleux Arabia ( YEMEN) Im so proud

Wild__: I am going to need more bb's before I go camping again. My 9 year old daughter in has used 'em up on our last trip. She can aim better than some adults!

PureSilver67: Yes well wildman69er, I would hope that you and your daughter are aiming at rocks or something "inaminate" - camping at least for the majoriting in this thread is for enjoying nature not harassing it.

Wild__: We use a camera for shooting animals, and then post it on facebook. We went for a walk in Golden Gate Park and she counted 21 seperate squirels. And, boy does she hate litter-bugs! She is such a sweet heart. She looks like me 'cept she's cute. I cant wait to take her camping again.

Wild__: Oh, and btw: rocks are bad targets as they tend to facilitate ricochet! Safety first!

nice photos you have up by the way .. and yes, your daughter is cute, although bit hard to tell how much she looks like you because she's all rugged up ..

Wild__: Lake Shasta is a great place to camp in the winter due to the abundance of drift wood. With a good fire and snow boots you can enjoy the beautiful snow covered mountaind and stay warm too!
