Do you think Andrew Bolt has some valid points? Stephen2020Vision: Do you think Andrew Bolt is making a lot of sense and that Australia has over-reacted a tad? Or do you think that Australia has made the right decisions on how to handle this crisis? Stephen2020Vision: Ah yes Melbourne, in all honesty from what I've seen and heard from Daniel Andrews, there's a lot to be desired, how is it that the state that had the most draconian rules end up in the terrible position that it is in now? The other states have handled the crisis much better, and it's hard to determine what went wrong. I think though that the more you punish people for stupid things like giving your daughter a driving lesson or sitting alone on a park bench where you are hardly a threat to anyone (though I do accept that park benches can be unclean but it's not hard to wash your hands), these were still incredibly strict rules, the strictest in the nation. And yet now Victoria is in a much worse position. Who is to blame though, I mean Daniel Andrews would blame it on families getting careless, and is threatening to send police to knock on peoples doors, but I think the Black Lives Matter protests (worthy cause and all) were also a factor. But the fact is, other states did allow families to see each other, as well as have Black Lives Matter protests, so I think there is a deeper issue going on in Victoria and Melbourne in particular. It could be perhaps because there is a serious flaw in Victoria's health system not shared by other states, where it's easier to deal with outbreaks and containing the thing elsewhere then in VIC.
