Weight issues, why is a size 8 consider fat!!!

o_o Dilly o_o: A young 18yrold weighing at a mere 57kilos is consider FAT!!! Seriously what is wrong with society today.

These Fashion/Model TV shows should promote healthy eating and positive body image...shame on them.

Remember when Marilyn Monroe was a beautiful hr glass shape women. You know curves and not hip bones and collar bones sticking out, thats what use to be beautiful. Now it seems a size zero is fat?
Its easy to tell people beauty is in the eye of the beholder BUT when you see all these grown ass women looking like 14 yr olds on the magazine covers,you really just shake your head and wonder wtf is what these days.

The problem is its the kids that listen to them ,So falls back on parents responsabillity to educate your child what is healthy and what is not

.It is not so much that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder .But true beauty comes from within .And schools ,parents, churches , media and the government and all us should be putting it out there and educating the system by telling everyone that beauty comes from within oneself

.I have been with models in my life and i can assure you some are very ugly on the inside

~LoisLane~: Actually yes it is beauty is in the eye of the beholder. You dont really know whos nice and who has nice "insides" until you talk to them. Then you can make a proper judgement if you want to talk to this person or not. Something has to attract you initially, and all we have is what someone looks like to go by until we get the chance to talk to them.

On the net, I find that more so applys. Cuz all we have is our words and whatever picture we decide to use to represent us. Cant really go by that cuz people put up any picture they want (might not even be them?) SO for the net, words are just fine to get to know someone and thats when you get to see the "beauty inside", but in the real world....doesnt work like that, yes its a shame but it is what it is.

5' (almost 4 inches) and I weigh 128.

My doctor says I am the perfect weight for my height.

miss gege: i agree Dilly.....other than those who think they're perfect; the ideal weight/height should not be by a scale but how the persons general health and activity are ..... to think that if you're over 20lbs your normal weight you're considered obese (in Canada)........is obscene. Right on Mags.....remember Marilyn was a size 16 (because of hips and the sizing back then) and she is still considered to be the sexiest woman. Lopez, Beyonce, even Angelina (sometimes) look so much better with a little bootie

I'm sorry you have been sucked into the media hype DrewBearPig. It's quite a sad place to be in when you are mentally controlled by something other than yourself.

Anyways, a size 8 is in no way fat. I am obviously larger, but I've also got a great set of boobs and a very large, cellulite-free ass. My hubby loves it, I love myself....no media influences will ever make me feel as if I should not love myself.

The wage against fat and skinny should be about health, not your dress size. I am definitely healthy, not only in body but my lifestyle also. I doubt I'll ever hit a size 8, only because I am shaped the way I am. If I lost my booty completely and maybe a cup size or two off my boobs I mighttttt...be able to fit into a size 8....but heck, I don't think I would personally be too happy with myself. Why would I want to flaunt a smaller size if I am not happy with how I look personally?


With my daughter, I try to promote a healthy lifestyle opposed to a healthy "dress size".


No one is made in the same shape as everyone else, not everyone is flat in all the right areas.
Heck, if skinny as a stick was a standard, what would be left for the people who enjoy large breasts, large hips and a large ass?
