To lose weight... (Page 4)
DarkKnightbc: Another diet post full of "experts" most do not have a clue what they are talking about
junyabee: I had a conversation with a VAMedCtr nutritionist. The reason we're told to have something to eat every 4-5 hours to keep up our metabolism, is because after 4-5 hours our body goes into 'hunger-mode' fat storage. ALSO, Our body can only handle 750calories every 4-5 hours to fully digest them. If we have a 'big (calorie-filled) meal' over 750 cals, the body will store the excess away in our adipose (fat) tissue. Our body, past a certain age, needs around 1600calories a day. Eat per meal up to 500 to 750 calories (for 3 meals per day) every 4-5 hours, but no more than 750 calories.
Plus also give your heart at least 20-30 mins of of aerobic stress. The nutritionist, who is also a physical trainer, recommended that laying on your back, or reclined up, and pumping your legs in a bicycle motion for that amount of accumulative time would cover that need, at a minimum.

Chissai: I agree with wingnutz, if you’re output is greater than your intake then you will lose weight.
psychodelish: There are good carbs and bad carbs. You want to cut the BAD carbs, that are tpically loaded with processed sugars, Those are your real enemy. Not only do they show, but behind the scenes they tax your immune system. They are detrimental other ways too.
Take in more or less of the good carbs that are essential. They will actually aid in building a stronger metabolism (and help hold on to lean muscle instead of burning more of it) so that you burn more calories in the long haul. And have an easier time controlling how much fat your body stores. Stay away from fad diets. Following those puts you at risk of holding even more fat in the long run, more than you started with. Thats why people run to them time after time. The best advice I can give is do speak with a professional seeking thorough advice and dieting guidelines that suit your genetics and lifestyle. Do it the right way and chances are it will become easier and easier to control what your body does. Its not as complicated as people make it. Misinformation leads to being misguided frustration, and let down. Another failed "diet". I never liked hearing the term diet being used as a way to lose fat. Everything consists of a diet. There are good balanced nutritional diets, and then there are bad diets. The net can be a blessing and a curse also.
