spaceMonkey711: Nicotine stimulates acetylcholine (Ach) receptors in the brain which help control voluntary movements ( i think.) so a lot of folks feel happier, more engaged, or more relaxed under the influence of nicotine. But the physiological damage done from smoking exponentially outweighs these benefits. I only started smoking to fit in /look like a tough guy. but that first cigarette does feel incredibly good especially in the AM. but it kills u over time.

They fall into the addiction by looking at the people around them. When i was young i see old people smoking around and curiously smoked once but never after that. And i think its because my parents never smoked, i didn't smoke.

Aussiekitty: l have been smoking for 28 years now and have tried so many times to give up but lm still going to keep trying until l kick the habit my fiance is going to try champax and lm going to try the patches again we must both try harder this time as not only are they bad for ur health in my country they are so expensive to buy and the prices are going up again in a few months by another 12% so sick of wasting money on rubbish we end up spending $300 a fortnight on this shit and its finally come to the point enough is enough.
