Bat_Tziyon: "Idiocy and imbecility are found comparatively more often among Jews than among non-Jews... The Mongolian type of idiocy is also very frequently observed among Jews... Among the Jews the proportion of insane has been observed to be very large... Jews are more liable to acute psychoses of early age than are non-Jews." (The Jewish Encyclopedia, Vol. VI, (1904), pp. 556, 603-04).

"The Jews are more subject to diseases of the nervous system than the other races and peoples among which they dwell. Hysteria and neurasthenia appear to be most frequent. Some physicians of large experience among the Jews have even gone so far as to state that most of them are neurasthenic and hysterical." (The Jewish Encyclopedia, Vol. IX, (1905), p. 225).

robertgoca87: Schizophrenia its a difficult and complicated disease. There are many theories about its genetic factors. But also is not 100 % true that because you´ve a relative whit this illness; you´ll have it. There is probability. But mentals problems still are a group of subjectives a hard causes to determine origin. So, you have to be prepared if some sympthoms appear. How ever I don´t advice having all time the idea in mind cuz you´ll cause yourself, other mental illness then. I´m a doctor and I can´t tell you, it is a very dificcult disiease to face; how ever there are many schizo people who participate activily in society.

generation_X: Schizophrenia is a problem with too much dopamine. The darker the skin the more dopamine one has. If you are diagnosed with this, not good. Schizoaffective is another one which I know of, not good. Drugs trigger something in the susceptible persons mind to provide that chemical splash and make them lose it. We know little of the mind. The drugs used for them are major tranquilizers, like seroquel, which essentially is a very strong antihistamine, with dopamine blocking properties. Better than being in a ward your whole life.

CD_Country Dreaming: I don't mind admitting I'm on meds for Schizophrenia...

My story started for me 25-30 years ago...

I've been through the worst and the best of it...We all ways hear the Dark side of Schizophrenia...I lived through the worst ...People out to get you...Living in fear to the point of suicide and survived to tell the story...

There is a Lighter side to it...

I've lived and experienced the best of it...I connected with my Higher Power and through my Higher Power I found Peace...

Some times being in a Schizophranic State of mind is a better place to be than in Reality...

ChristopherVon: It happened to me once but it went away. Mine was caused by abusing drugs. It's induced by drug abuse as well. For many people it doesn't go away though. Mine went away in a week but some it last a month others years then of course it can be permanent to. I gained a serious respect for anyone with pschitsofrenia. I kept hearing cartoon noises in my head. Once I heard a voice 3 inches from Infront of my face say "Your so stupid! "I literally almost fell out of my chair. I was scaired before I figured out everything I was hearing wasn't real. I kept seeing lights in my room on the wall to. This was well after I was sober again. I didn't know what was real so I started ignoring everything I heard and saw. Before I knew it was in a pschycosis I was really scaired. I thought people were out to get me. It was after I bashed my door open to bust the person whistling through the door at me that I realized something was wrong because nobody was there. I looked it up online thinking I did some bad drugs and found out it was all symptoms of a drug induced psychosis and that I just had to cross my fingers that it went away. Might I add the whole time I was on the internet looking it up I kept hearing the cartoon noises. It was so wierd to ignore.

TheCovenant: yes schizophrenia can be caused by drug induced reactions. its more common than you may think. the soviet medical profession calls it an article 70 of the constitution. western societies are silent on the matter.

Probably written by a psychiatrist.

Any history of mental illness in your family. Nope nothing before world war 2.

TheCovenant: sczisophrenia, the rcmp of Canada has generated 14 million pages of mystery medical reports a year. they are also suing the government for 1 billion dollars for mistreatment and sexual abuse. Its strange that the rcmp would be on the forfront of bringing the shadow world into the light all the while trying to make a buck at it. Shhh-it.
