schizophrenic (Page 3) Sorry Vince, but its quite apparent that you can't separate fact from fiction, and I think most of the people on the forum know this by now (if you couldn't tell). Despite the fact that we can show you the difference between a schizophrenic's brain an a normal person's brain, you still choose to think that its caused by something completely unscientific, completely unfounded, and stupid. You don't even make a little room for reason, either. I hope no one in your family becomes schizophrenic, lest you let them suffer for religious reasons attempting to cast demons out of them rather then go get them some real help with medicine. mate your talkin to some one who sees spirit ans my sister has a medical condition not a fy$y%# ghost so shut up coz you thickness is pissin me off you fool you need to see some one big time Good plan Vince. If someone does happen to ask a good question here, realize that it probably isn't directed at you. good goood you have finally got the hint no not like my sister she has schitzophrenia feck knows what you have or have taken my mom hears voices and also see things not there i guess it passed me thank god...but knock on wood but im only 21.. Being schitzo can be either inherited or due to various environmental stress especially abuse. However someone with a schitzo parent does not necessarily become mentally ill. Nature or nurture agrument i guess. I know a schitzo and i think this person is not safe to be out in normal society because this person can be violent at random. Schizophrenia is a severe brain disease that interferes with normal brain and mental function-it can trigger hallucinations, delusions, paranoia, and significant lack of motivation. Without treatment, schizophrenia affects the ability to think clearly, manage emotions, and interact appropriately with other people. It is often disabling and can profoundly affect all areas of your life (for example, becoming unable to work or go to school). Being told that you or someone you love has schizophrenia can be frightening or even devastating. The best way to improve your quality of life with schizophrenia is to learn as much as you can about this condition and then adhere to the recommended treatment. There are several types of schizophrenia, and the specific types are diagnosed based upon symptoms. The most common type is paranoid schizophrenia, which causes a person to have fearful thoughts and hear threatening voices. Schizophrenia does not involve multiple personalities and is not the same condition as dissociative identity disorder (also called multiple personality disorder or split personality) What causes schizophrenia? There are many theories about the cause of schizophrenia, but none have yet been proven. Schizophrenia may be a genetic disorder, since your chances of developing schizophrenia increase if you have a parent or sibling with the condition, but most people with relatives who have schizophrenia will not develop it. It may also be related to problems experienced during pregnancy (such as malnutrition, or being exposed to a viral infection) that damages the unborn child's developing nervous system. I read an article that said a cat scratch can cause schitzophrenia. It put a virus under the cats nails into your blood and it can cross the protctive barrier in the brain. I have been trying to find the probability that a child will develop schizophrenia if their parent has it. Anyone know by chance? Some medical sources believe there is a strong genetic link that make the offsping of the schitzophrenic more susceptable. Other specialists blame the environment of the patient and that anyone put under enough strees can develop this illness. Noting is definitive for now. my dr told me that all brain disorders are either heridetary or cause by a lot of stress. In 2005 I hit the diagnosis of schitzoaffective disorder and with the help of my family and friends on wire-club and medicine Im doing fine.........so there is hope my friend, there is hope. Comment on Dell's post about cat scratch fever causing schizophrenia. I read an article about that too. Thats why pregnant woman should not handle cat litter boxes. Cats shed a virus called toxoplasmosis, it can get into the blood stream and cause problems one of which is being investigated as schizophrenia. Very low statistics and not 100 % proven yet. Its an impossible diagnosis to get off a black list for employment, I believe is often a misdiagnosis for political agitators under slight delusion with family history. Some guy downunder got off jail time for a multiply homicide diagnosed schizophrenia, guess why a lot of famous rich folk can bribe their way out of anything just considered mad. (Edited by alpossmar82) Optimism goes a long way whether medicated or not, coping with social stigma and loss of opportunity. (Edited by alpossmar82) I believe everyone has an inner psychopath, does anyone educated in psychiatry or psychology agree disagree. Politics would argue a level of statistics and actuate other mathematical modeling hereditary and the condition. If you are dealing with schizophrenia, please visit my support room here on wire.
