Do you know what a GMO is and what is organic?

AretoNyx
AretoNyx: I have been asked what a GMO is and some may have subjective opinions on it or use the dictionary definition. Any how the thing of info is there and some may choose biases instead.
I just use a food pantry myself and thankful whatever given. I do not mind eating organic or GMO ( even the selective breeding GMO foods that is done over time).
Do you know what a GMO is?

"A genetically modified organism (GMO) is any organism whose genetic material has been altered using genetic engineering techniques. The exact definition of a genetically modified organism and what constitutes genetic engineering varies, with the most common being an organism altered in a way that "does not occur naturally by mating and/or natural recombination". A wide variety of organisms have been genetically modified (GM), from animals to plants and microorganisms. Genes have been transferred within the same species, across species (creating transgenic organisms) and even across kingdoms. New genes can be introduced, or endogenous genes can be enhanced, altered or knocked out." wikipedia

The giant midget: I usually explain the 2 with what real baked bread ( natural ingredients ) is versus the chemically induced processing 1 ( GMO )
The ( GMO) bread has various kinds of harmful chemicals to allow the 18 days of store shelves time
The baked bread with natural ingredients only has a shelve span of 20 hours

Home baked bread is the simplest and cheapest and the healthiest that anyone can make everyday
Fresh out of the oven is so yummy

AretoNyx: There was mentioned in playlist by those against GMOs that words such as " all natural" and " natural" on products does not always mean no GMOs. Also definition of chemicals is much like that up to interpretation of natural. I guess there is no supernatural ghost food and zero chemicals such as chemistry elements in bread , but this was also mentioned on list.
Naturalistic fallacy is a thing I used to do often too.

Home made salt and water is it organic enough or is store bought processed with different labels better or worse? IDK

The giant midget: We in North America have been fed GMO's for 50 plus years in a wide range of editable products for the simple convenient of store shelves duration.
I remember as child, the big rave about TV dinners, mom always refused to have that brought into the house ,she believed till, this day that the foods that are industrially processed will be the leading causes of death
All milk consumed in North America is pasteurized, the industry and governments tell us that milk must be filtered to remove impurities and bacteria ,that's a load of bovine manure
I drunk pure fresh warm milk purged straight from the cows titties till my early teen,my sister did the same has several generations before us
Stay away from the GMO's they will kill you slowly

AretoNyx: The thing is would you eat cheese with magots because that is a delicacy in some places?
Would you feel an infant or toddler milk or cheese with magots?
Supposedly one can eat honey but one should not stuff babies with it.
If diabetic or other issues where a diet differing for individual need exists it must be bad because it is the governments fault or who ever because processed foods even if they are labled organic? Not sure your point on this really.

TV dinners are the biggest killer. Who knew. Like to see that evidence beyond belief and based off a hospital or scientific site with peer review studies with those exact words, or whatever claims though.

AretoNyx: Consumer reports says much and other...though also make sure info is more recent than older unknown or such info debunked. There is much old misinformation out there besides how organic companies seems at times hypocritical.

The giant midget: Ummm
I did say that my mother believes that industrialized processed food will kill you noting more nothing less.
Don't know where the consumer reports and reviews are coming from
Just reading the ingredients is a great indication at its finest on anything

mayonnaise is a perfect example, this is my own family recipe that's been shared for centuries on both sides of the Pond .
3 eggs yokes,2 tbsp of water ,1 tsp of salt and 3/4 cup of olive oil, whisk till creamy like whipped cream or use a blender it will have a very light yellowish color to it ,it's so yummy

Just natural products no labels ,no reviews but so yummy

What's in that jar of mayonnaise that you have ??

The giant midget: In my household 90 % of our meals are home cooked starting basically with fresh vegetables from the backyard ,herbs. ,my kids do most of the cooking ,they make their own pasta .
Girlfriend house is the same ,it's natural ingredients as much as possible.
Meats and fish are bought at local suppliers.
My own kids are in their mid 20's but since they were toddlers they were introduced to a variety of ethnic foods and they never looked for anything else
My girlfriend kids are preteens but past 9 years they also are starting to exploring different ethnic dishes.
We all rather starve than walking into a macdonalds or KFC and crappy places like them .
Yes our home cooked meals don't have labels
