ElectricPotato: What do you use this very healthy food for?
I can think of garlic butter and hummus, but what other things are there?
Koalemos: Lol, so twisted that garlic commentary... love it.
How about a thousand sauces?
the bummer is the afterwards halitosis .
jim-jim!: just last night i fried some in butter with bread...
with pumpkin and cauliflower soup... delicious
Koalemos: Dang! Now Jim why do you have to said that?
After reading that my stomach scream GARLYC AND BREAD!!! Lol. So now i dont know what to do...very much thank you Jim .
ElectricPotato: umm yeah i like the creamy idea. I like to make cream of mushroom soup out of the can and make some garlic bread and dip the garlic bread in the soup. Garlic margarine/butter is the coolest thing you could ever make, just hope it keeps well in the fridge.
franky204: oh ya another thing when you boil potatoes in a pot on the stove try but some garlic in it it was so good
hunter_jumper: chop up whole fresh cloves and throw it into soups (esp. turkey noodle) before you heat the soup up..... sooo yummy!
ladysonoma: Garlic roasted on a grill... Don't do anything to it, just put the little cloves on there until it's soft and YUM...
But yeah.... it's heavenly at first, not so heavenly when you're tasting it for like a day later... lol.
I just researched a pumpkin cauliflower recipe. I never heard of it, but it sounds/looks yummy!
SecularSarah: I'm allergic to onions, so just about anything that calls for onions gets garlic in our house.
badsal: you can make a "garlic broth" to drink when you're sick to boost your immune response.
you can roast garlic and make a "spread" to eat with stuff.
that is all, there are no other uses for garlic.
piazzolla: I love it. I can't eat garlic very often because I work with people and etc.
When I make a rotissiere (not sure about spelling of this word, sorry)chicken, I poke holes in the chicke's skin with a knife and put small or cut in half garlic cloves underneath. It gives the chicken a very nice flavor while cooking. I also put my special sauce on the chicken skin before I put it in the oven.
I use garlic when I cook lamb or a vegetable stew too.
Tatilove: I like garlic in just about anything. But garlic bread... yummmmmmmmmmmm.
Or garlic butter sauce to have with seafood. yummmmmmmmmmm again.
LookingSpecifically: I like to mince some garlic, and mix it with olive oil and put in the fridge. It lasts some time, and I use in on the morning toast with some baby spinach and an egg- a healthy yet yummy way to start the day (as long as your'e not planning on opening your mouth that day)
ColonelKusanagi: i put garlic on just about everything that's not sweet. bacon and garlic make my world go round. I often seer it in butter and dip pizza, bread ect in it
AussieNerd: I use garlic in many ways
1. Curry pastes [made from scratch] ... finely grating them works better than chopping or crushing them.
2. Roast garlic cloves (do not peel) .... when you roast your vegies, add a few garlic cloves. They will go soft. Cut open and use the soft paste as a sauce on your meat or vegies. Alternatively, mix crushed garlic, grated ginger and finely chopped chilli and sprinkle over vegies.
3. Roast garlic can also be mixed into mashed potatoes or a meat loaf
Remember, different types of garlic have different strengths of smell [and effect your breath differently]
