Is human cannibalism wrong? (Page 3) Nosferatu: In a desperate time where food is needed and there is no animal or plant source a human could be a viable option. Human cannibalism is still practiced in Papua New Guinea. Humans are not the only creatures that practice cannibalism. Female praying mantises, named whether they are religious or not, prey upon their male mates after copulation and then lay their eggs in their stomachs. That action may be solely a mating ritual and not a feasting ritual because a) females do not practice this method outside of mating and b) males do not feast upon females. Mammal homnivores are close to cannibals because they eat food that is in the same class as them: mammalia. Class is close to species, but it isn't exactly species. One animal that does practice cannibalism is golden hamsters, though I believe if provoked any animal would practice eating their young. So, since other mammals practice eating their young, it is not so shameful that humans do it. Wrong? What is more noble than survival. Encourageble? With so many easy options to obtain meat and non-meat that contains all the vitamins and nutrients that meat contains (nuts, tofu) there should be no excuse to practice cannibalism. Even stranded on another island with only humans there is probably fruit and nuts and only a maniac would resort to killing their own kind before resorting to trying to build a boat out of the wood from trees.  Aura: we all agree that humans did/do eat other humans at times and weather you find this a good or bad thing is a moral question. But I've been thinking....would human meat these days even get through inspection? With all the shit we put into our bodies (medicine, drugs, pollution, stuff like that) I really don't think it would.
