Ghost of Gangsta: What is wrong with plus-size women trying to wearing flattering clothes?

Sounds like some women don't like to look flattering.

I think.

You decide what they're saying. My male brain can't seem to comprehend.

riot__: These guys clearly haven't gone shopping with a plus size woman. He isn't addressing the point presented in the video at all, except around the instagram bit, which I have to agree with. So many plus women seek validation and self esteem and they do it by skinny shaming and man hating. However, all it takes is a bit of tweaking in the core size designing in order to create styles which fit plus sized women properly. Unfortunately, that tweaking takes a lot of work, so most designers just don't do it. Something I also find in response threads between designers and consumers is whenever they present the consumer with a flattering style, the whining about feeling too insecure to wear something that bold or revealing (I'm talking loud patterns and sleeveless, here, totally normal fashion things right now) begins. A truly confident woman will wear whatever the hell she wants, so designers are caught in between the confident women and the women who are trying to cover up their flaws. The result is usually some horrible compromise in the form of an ugly garment resembling a circus tent.

He isn't helping his argument by dehumanizing fat women, either, but I don't refute that people are attracted to whomever based on evolutionary traits.

amanda_t1: If your a size 18 or upwards like me wear a lot of black but Spend Spend Spend on the accessories. Try dipsticklondon.com for trendy but big bags and go upmarket for jewelry that coompliments and shoes that match your bag. Big does not mean you have to always wear a tent dress. Be daring. Love yourself.
