miss gege: did anyone know that he had passed; i just read it on the TCM newsletter........but without my glasses couldn't read much

-Lawrence of Arabia - his first movie role - won best male performance Oscar
-I loved him in Becket w' Burton (lol two drunk welshmen) he was Henry II
reprised Henry II in the Lion in the Winter with Kate Hepburn and newbies Anthony Hopkins, Timothy Dalton, and the guy who played (Arthur in Excalibur)
-Goodbye Mr. Chips w'Petula Clarke is a particular favorite
also my favorite year

there are so many.........i adored him

he starred in the Roman mini series Masada w'Peter Strauss and was magnificent

Geoff: He could always lift any film just by the sheer strength of his presence.

High Spirits would have sucked if it was left up to Steve Guttenberg, but his turn as a drunken hotel owner with a plan to sucker some American tourists was hilarious.

miss gege: i could be wrong but at my Oscar party many of my friend, n me, noticed that during the "in memoriam" there was not picture of Peter O'Toole; of course i fired of a tweet and i even sent a message to the academy ........... it was shameful
