charliexhustle: You cant regulate human nature. If you make murder illegal it doesnt stop people from murdering. How much has the murder rate decreased since instanciation of the death penalty?

Has theft stopped because its illegal? Rape? you name it.. human nature is ugly, unfortunately. Can you stop it with "Zero tolerance" ?

No.

You're all living in a pipe dream.

Queenie The Poo: I think you can at least lessen it by having a zero tolerance in school. Teaching kids that that type of behaviour is not tolerated from age 5 can only be a good thing. Trying the same thing with adults (who actually should know better) is likely not to work, you're right.

Queenie The Poo: I am talking about what they do in most schools here .. start from the beginning. From the moment they start school/preschool/prep, etc ... they know that behaviour is just not acceptable. And of course it comes from home as well.

charliexhustle: do we not already teach our kids to be nice to each other? you make it seem like we are spartans and we teach them how to murder.. kids know right from wrong, they do wrong anyway when they wont be caught. if its in their nature. you cant control what goes on in their home life. maybe their parents are heroin addicts. most kids dont act out that way, but the ones that do are the ones you are concerned about and you cant do shit for them.

Queenie The Poo: Most parents do teach their kids to be nice to each other, of course. But obviously not all of them do. And I'm not sure what heroin addict parents has to do with anything ... But again, as I said, starting when they first enter school and are socialising with other kids (apart from family members and friends) is a good thing. Zero tolerance in schools works most of the time and the punishments are harsh.

charliexhustle: because most kids have nice parents who teach them not to be collosal douchebags. the kids doing the bullying are usually troubled at home.

Queenie The Poo: True in a lot of cases but there are many other reasons kids bully. And it's also kind of beside the point of this.

As I said in an earlier post, stopping bullying on this particular site is, in reality, not going to happen as people (mods, etc) don't take it seriously and just laugh it off.

charliexhustle: well in that case.. just hire more mods, and we can ratchet this whole shit up to a gestapo style of moderation. show us your papers, have you bullied today? lets monitor everyone

Queenie The Poo: Lol, hiring more mods will do nothing, especially when the ones we already have (and not all of them) don't really give a shit what people say to each other, they laugh it off and say 'Just block them'

MollyJ: There is so much irony in this forum.

And the definition, for the person who asked, is:

cyberbullying include communications that seek to intimidate, control, manipulate, put down, falsely discredit, or humiliate the recipient. The actions are deliberate, repeated, and hostile behavior intended to harm another. Cyberbullying has been defined by The National Crime Prevention Council: “When the Internet, cell phones or other devices are used to send or post text or images intended to hurt or embarrass another person."[2][3]

A cyberbully may be a person whom the target knows or an online stranger. A cyberbully may be anonymous and may solicit involvement of other people online who do not even know the target.

Which is actually all against the 'rules' of Wireclub but I guess the mod's take a hazy look at the definition because it still goes on.
I also get frustrated when one person starts picking on person and then more in the room join in and nobody sticks up for that person. But the issue there probably is that if you stick up for someone then you, yourself will be targeted.

MollyJ: But less freedom to do what? From what I've seen the main things people get 'flagged' for is picking on others or swearing. Surely we can still chat without doing those things .... Just a thought
