What are you looking for in a man?

Motati: Women are forever expected to behave in a certain manner or dress in a particular way to attract men. I just want to know from women what are you exactly looking for in a man, the type of man who will attract you, character, personality and looks.

From men do you see it important to take trouble to genuinely impress women with your looks and behaviour?

kittybobo34: Tough question for me, Looks arent as important to me as attitude, especially about sex. I am a bit conflicted about sex. So describing my perfect man would be describing someone who doesnt exist.
Women like men are attracted to certain traits, cant help that. But, that just opens the door a little. Honesty, and compassion is what shines through for me. That also makes it easier to see if this other person is right for me.

Motati: S true, it would be difficult to be in a relationship with a selfish, inconsiderate good looking man.

iowagent1956: I don't mean to speak for women, but through personal observation I'd say the number one thing that attracts a woman to a man is confidence, whether real or staged. I have seen women fall over themselves to draw the attention of some of the most rude, boorish and narrow minded men. All of whom had one thing in common - self confidence. As far back as adolescence I tried to present myself as a humorous, sensitive and intelligent individual. But I lacked that key ingredient, self confidence. And did I ever pay the price!

Motati: There is an element of truth in what you are saying Iowa, but as we age I think most of us are attracted by kindness, sensitive and intelligence. Self confidence is important but not on top of the list. There is a thin line between self confidence and arrogance which can be confusing sometimes.

Motati: Come to think of it Iowa you have the right qualities for a good man, unless you prefer them young.

iowagent1956: No, I like to keep within a reasonable proximity of my own age.

I agree with you, Motati, self confidence AND arrogance play a more significant role with much younger people. In fact, as I have aged my self confidence has grown. Part of that is because i no longer crave acceptance nor fear rejection. The other part is I've learned to like who I've become.

Motati: Often we hear things like I like a slim, busty or chubby woman,short or tall woman. I like a blond, brunette or red hair girl. And once the man's mind is set on what they want in a woman they don't compromise. Are women particular with a guy's height, body, tattoos, his wallet, intelligence or any other thing or they are just happy to be approached by any available man?

Ask 100 people what they want in a woman/man, you'll get 100 different answers. We all want to be appreciated, loved, respected. To me the formula is easy. Want to be loved? Be lovable. Want to be respected? Be respectable.

kittybobo34: Actually there was an experiment regarding all mammals, and it was discovered that they become associated to the opposite sex at a very early age. So for any man or woman there was someone in their life that became the idea for that person. Often its someone that looks like a parent or sibling. I know I am attracted to men that are like my brother was in his earlier years.
