Did Someone Break Your Heart? How Did You Heal? (Page 4) (Post deleted by Searchonglostfrndask ) (Post deleted by Searchonglostfrndask ) (Post deleted by Searchonglostfrndask ) FunkyBiscuits82: * We met in the 6th grade, became friends almost immediately and remained so until we became lovers in our early 20's. We were only romantically involved for a year and a half. * He hurt me in many ways, but the main problem was that he started lying to me. Then I found out he was cheating. He would not confess to cheating no matter what lie he was caught in, and instead would accuse me of being jealous and crazy. * I didn't break up with him, he broke up with me. He said he could not be with me because I didn't trust him. He was correct. * I did eventually get over him, but it took some time. I didn't want to get back together with him, so I had no trouble staying broken up. But still it was difficult to get over the fact that obviously he had never loved me. The memories we made were all bad ones since I realized that every good thing he did was phony, every loving thing he said was a lie. I even had nightmares about him most nights. It was just sad to me. Took me around two years to get over him. It was a gradual process, each day I accepted and mourned a little more. And finally I was able to let it go. * I did not seek revenge. I am not the type to bother with stuff like that. I just say (or yell) my piece, make my decision, and then I am done. * I have not fallen in love with anyone else yet. * He wanted to remain friends. I think I gave him a chance to do so. It took only like a week to realize there was no way we could be friends. He was still lying! About things he no longer had to lie about. I found that a bit disturbing. * I got through it by just moving on. As I mentioned above, it was a slow process. I dealt with the emotions directly, accepted hard truths, mourned hard losses. I talked to friends and family about it sometimes. I went to work, I listened to music, wrote stories and poetry, read books, watched movies and just lived my life as I always had. There were times when it was hard to focus, and in those moments, I just had to feel the feelings and sort myself out. It's been a long time since then. Now, my ex is like a stranger to me. Still hard to believe things happen that way. lol. But they do and I will never be in a relationship with someone like that again. I’m selfish, I want my hubby all to myself, and well there are too many men that play games, and I’m exhausted. You either know you have a good woman that’s all yours and for you, or just jump back in the water with the other school of fishes.
