Why do we even have currency?

Metaverseguy: Ever been broke as sh*t, with no job prospects and then just wonder why we even use money?

Animals don't use money. The hell is this worthless paper that is ruling our lives and making us miserable.

TheEvanMan: Because you have no skills or goods that the collective 1,000 person development team that made Grand Theft Auto would be willing to exchange for a copy of the game.

Instead you provide your skills to someone who DOES have a use for them, they give you money, which you then give to the GTA people, so that they can go buy whatever they want.

Direct bartering is terrible.

Metaverseguy: Listen man I'm just bitching and complaining. But did you hear they are thinking about putting a woman on the 10 dollar bill? I don't like how Andrew Jackson is on the 20 dollar bill. That guy was a POS war-mongerer who tried to slaughter the Indians at every opportunity he had. It's only tensions between ethnic groups like that that took generations to heal. Plus u see $20 bills the most because that's what comes out of ATM's, unless ur broke a$$ fuck then all u see coming out of an ATM is dust.

Metaverseguy: I don't agree with this whole post-modern feminism movement where every woman complains that she is treated unfairly. Men respect women. They like their mothers. They like their daughters. Adding this symbol isn't like a giant leap into women's rights. They can vote. They can own property. The statue of liberty is a woman.

TheEvanMan: Your right, it's not a giant leap in women's rights, nor is it mean to be. It's just a cool thing to do. One of the things we do with our currency is draw attention to and celebrate various historical figures. Until now we've only chosen men (awful dollar coins excepted), that's changing, cool!

Adding the symbol isn't the leap -- the fact that the symbol is being added shows that the leap already happened.
