The freedom to think for myself and come up with my own conclusions rather than relying on a guidebook like the Bible has enriched my life in every way possible. For me, it has made be a better person morally, intellectually and it has improved my mental well-being. These sorts of things affect people differently, I suppose. I have the freedom to examine philosophy and science without a severe bias that clouds my thinking. How does a flawless, all powerful and all knowing God not have the foresight to know that if he created things in a certain way, it would lead to the deplorable conditions currently upon the earth? The answer, of course, is that a God with those qualities would absolutely see that coming....and choose to alter his creation in a way that wouldn't doom them to failure before it was created. The fact that these conditions do exist lends strong weight to the idea that a God with these traits does not. Cumulative changes due to natural selection can help to develop anything that leads to a survival advantage. Humans happen to be occupying the niche for intelligence within nature..Our survival depends, not on our sharp claws, our speed, our camouflage or our defense...But on our minds that can come up with alternatives to any of those things.
