Mink_n_Sable: I have lived in both the USA, and Canada.. being born and raised Canadian, of course I have preference for my own home country. but I've lived long enough in the US to realize that by far; Canada is hands down the most relaxed, down to earth, decent, accepting, and least Racially discriminant country on this planet... I dondt speak out of ignorance. my 18 years in the Canadian Airforce and my postings all over this planet have shown me enough to base my opinion on fact. This debate will go on forever, all of us are proud of our home countries, this debate will serve no purpose but to get a rise out of the other side of the border. the USA and Canada are neighbors.. we should treat each other as such. IS there not enough strife in the world?

Maxine_Rules: To those who say taxes are to high in Canada - try NY State. Property & School taxes alone are outragous... a $200,000 home can cost you around 7 grand (or more) a year - that never goes away unlike a mortgage. Yes a few things are cheeper but not taxes that I have seen here and the income level is lower.

In addition, we in Canada take having medical care as a right, try paying hundreds of dollars a month of coverage and then still having gross co-pays. You have to try and find a doctor that will accept your medical coverage and then wait for approvals from the medical insurance company prior to having anything done. Then, if you should lose your job and your medical coverage - can you say screwed? You can lose everything paying for whatever needs to be done. I have seen it.

As a Canadian in living in the US a lot of the myths I believed I found to be false. There are good things and bad in both countries - just like there are good and bad people in both. Having lived in both countries though I have learned I would never become a US citizen and give up my Canadian status. The Politics here scare the crap out of me lol.

dvustimmer: I always like the fact the relationship between the US and Canada is that of a family. We argue alot, we rip on each other alot, we are proud of our own self identities as countries, but there is alot of respect and loyalty between the people from both countries. That said, the USA is better just because I know most Canadians are going to say Canada.

Hyenablood: debates like this happen everywhere on earth, who is better - country A or country B, Men or Women, Dogs or Cats, Lizards or beatles, Ground or Air.
We humans love to argue and fight over silly things beause lots of us are bored and have nothing to do, but there are TV shows/stations that make millions off arguements like this, only on a bigger scale.

Hyenablood: true, but you walk in with a injury, get treated, and go home. No doctors asking for your insurance info, no getting kicked out because you don't have the money. No hard choices to make, ie : which body part you can afford to re-attach.
