I think for any relationship to flourish, you should have two people who are physically attracted to each other, are mentally challenging yet compatible to keep each other's interest, and emotional attachment.

Pretty simple stuff in theory, not always easy to find. But when you do, hang on and enjoy the ride, so to speak.
