Agreeance yet... (Page 3) Zhya: Then...why isn't there a created room of it open now? That might show further interest in wanting it to be a potential public room. It still seems highly controversial. danigrrl: I can only imagine there's no room created as of now because most do not have the time to commit to one. In my case, I spend most of my day at university and when I actually am at home I'm likely to be working on an assignment. That paired with other commitments I have doesn't leave a lot of time for monitoring a chat room. Still, I've noticed lesbian and bi rooms up at the same time and both get a fair amount of traffic so I think the interest is there. When you consider time differences, however, I think many WC members don't even bother to open a room because they wrongfully assume the interest won't be there. Zhya: Mods are humans, too. If you're not here often enough for the idea of your promotional chat room, then why promote at all? danigrrl: Because the room's not about me. I might not be here as often anymore but LGBT members log in everyday. They should have a permanent meeting place. And when I do visit WC, I would appreciate easy access to like minded people. Zhya: Your best bet for now is to stick to a member created room. Even if you aren't there, people can still be kicked from the room by joined forces. danigrrl: That's what I'll be doing for the moment as Wireclub does not offer any alternatives at present. My only hope is that such a room is at least being considered by the admins. While Wireclub has since branched out to various countries throughout the world, I would hope the admins remember its Canadian roots and the Canadian identity of accepting, protecting, and embracing those seen as different. piazzolla: As a single and full-time lesbian, I would be very interested in a LGBT Mingle Room, for example. I don't live in a big city so it is not easy to find friends and activity partners in my area. Especially, the open-minded ones. I actually lost a couple of friends when I told them that I was a lesbian ( I never made a pass on them or discriminated against them.)As I grow older, it doesn't get any easier to find new friends. I drink very rarely and don't smoke, so bars are not my thing. I think it is a great idea. I shouldn't worry about creeps too much because they are everywhere. We should be able to take care of them by blocking and reporting them. TheOriginalG: First of all Deep you're wrong. Check Section 15 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms...your examples of alcoholics etc...are not specifically covered under the CCRF. Of course, alcoholics as individuals are protected...but they can't sue the gov't for being turned away from services when under the influence of alcohol. Discrimination against LGBT is as much an offense as discrimination for race, color, or creed. yw for the clarification 2) Zhya's suggestion of creating member rooms is totally reasonable 3) Come on deep I've booted people from my rooms for the most random reasons...ever hear of my 123 vote? ummm yeah. They're member rooms don't take them seroiusly. I got kicked out of Cudddddling room because I asked if they like to cuddle...some cuddling room 4) You're going to catch more trolls than flies with the honey of a LGBT room. Dedicated mod volunteers would be necessary at ALL times...which would be difficult because its not like they work shifts and mods have irl lives too. 5) If you want the room make it and direct message Rod to make one. If enough people use the member created room and message Rod to sell him on the idea, I'm sure it can be done. 6) I will definitely perv up the room when its in action and molesticate Billy and Mercs up and down if I see them in there that right wing guy: Claims that gay parents are just as capable of raising children as straight parents are misrepresented.
