Athiest or agnostic
Bex: But i believe, i just don't believe that the person is God or that his or her name is God. I believe there is something, just not sure what. But i have my own reasons for that!!

Quantum paradoxes
Quantum paradoxes: Yeah, I agree. The same way I believe the earth is a living entity, capable of defending itself from harm, and such. It also keeps all the life on it alive. So in one sense, to me, its everyones mother.

I believe the universe is similar. It exists to create life. So to me the universe is alive, and is god.....

Kinda hard to explain, but there it is.....

~Loa~: I see your point QP, and I understand it too. For me growing up in a home believing makes it a truth for me. I believe that there is a divinity called God and I believe in his words, but that may be a matter of perception contributed to my raising. Also I'm unsure is Atheism a belief of nothing?

Quantum paradoxes: I feel the same way Loa. Some say seeing is believing. I believe that believing is seeing with our hearts!!

doug: AS there is no living soul alive to attest to the working of a gawd, or any religious relic, why do people believe in it. A crutch to lean on and blame when life has its down times? Am me, a person who has attained great age, nope, no beliefs, well except for meself.
Was brought up a United church protestant, which I walked away from when life was taken from my 8 year old daughter. Not looking for sympathy, just a point.People need to believe in themselves, not a million dollar church setup, a religion that today has crumbled, press reports, facts on abuse. All under the cover of those who under the power of the church were relocated to carry on again!
Comment, this is my point of view!

Quantum paradoxes
Quantum paradoxes: I can only imagine how bad it must be to have to let go of a child Doug!! Hell, I have trouble enough putting an injured animal to sleep! I think if I lost any of my kids Id fall apart completely!

I agree with you aswell about the church. Im sure there ARE good people working for the church, but mostly I think its lost its way. And not only that but I dont think the church can see that most of what it does, and teaches has very little, if ANYthing to do with spiritual growth!! Seems to be mostly about power and control.....

Somehow I still have a faith though!! Its just not based on religion. I believe there IS a purpose. And yeah, I KNOW that bad things CAN happen to good people, to innocent people. I just find it hard in the extreme to believe that there is NOthing to learn from anything!!...........

scionschild: <<<---Agnostic here, at least for now! lol My understanding of agnostic is that "it is beyond our comprehension to know."

Q: I often use the phrase, "I'll see it when I believe it!" And I very much agree about the Earth and Universe being living entities!
