KentuckyMoonshineGal: I got mine when I was 14 - on the eve of my 15th birthday. My boyfriend tattooed his name on my ankle. This was in 1980 before tattoos were cool. My dad was NOT happy. We were in luuuvvv. I'm 54 now - that tattoo brings back memories................

Silver_Fire: I wouldn’t get a tattoo if they paid me.
It looks okay while your skin is young & firm.....but that same tattoo when you’re old?? Ugh!
Nothing uglier than a wrinkly, saggy tattoo.

BrianStoner: 16. A friend did the first two with a couple of needles and thread, a heart on one arm and a cross on the other, and they looked like 'jailhouse tats'. Then later, at 18 (had to be 18 to go to a tat parlor in PA) I got them cleaned up by a pro and added another one on my forearm, the Chinese characters for 'Freedom'.
The OP though reminds me of when I was teaching in Phoenix, at a 'school' for troubled teens, I had a student, a very 'ripe' little chica, who had a LOT of ink, the cleavage area, her legs, her shoulders.... I asked her how she'd gotten them since I knew she was under the legal age to go to a parlor, and she just smiled and said "The tattoo parlors here, if you show them a bit of skin, they'll tattoo you anywhere!"
