Even Mom's Love Twilight Ember_: maybe i am not so in love with the characters as my kid, but i love the books, and the first movie was good, altho I wish it was longer and had more details that were in the book, it has been a great way for me to bond with my daughter!! nzleah: Like my daughter, I read all the books and loved them. Plus saw the movie multiple times with her. Now Im hanging out for New Moon. Ember_: I can't wait. I hope they spent a bit more money on it and got more details in this time, but we really are excited. nzleah: Yeah I know what you are saying. After I saw the deleted scenes from Twilight I realised that the movie could have been made so much better. Ember_: I heard that's why the Director for Twilight declined to do New Moon, because they wouldn't give her the budget she felt was required for the movie. So, they got a new director and ended up over budget anyways. DUH... nzleah: Yes you are right. The meadow scene in particular could have been made so much better. By all accounts from what I have read New Moon will be really good. We will compare notes I am sure. In the mean time I might have to re-read the book again. haha. winterskiss: i hope that the second movie is better than the first. the first made the book look like crap.. the movie was horrid compared to the book! so much was missing out of it. anyways theres another book coming out.. edward's point of view.. midnight sun lunalupine: I agree - and my daughter is sharing the Twilight experience with me. She saw the movie & loved it...but shes literary minded and wanted the books. She read them all so quickly that she decided to re-read them and savour them. Its been great to share - shes 10yrs old and just is exploring the difference between the written word & film..and yay..she prefers the written word. Maybe Ill get to read them when I get the time...but really..shes told me almost everything word for word...I feel like I already have. Ember_: I'm told Stephenie Meyer cancelled Midnite Sun because the first five chapters of her transcript were stolen and put on the net. I haven't heard that she has decided to publish it. lunalupine: thanks for that info shesa - i googled it for my daughter. Im sad for Stephanie - for a creative artist that violation would have been devastating and perhaps taken the original story off in a different direction. Its good that shes decided to postpone the book for now. I cant imagine why she would have given anyone copies of the draft - what was she thinking!!! I guess she hasnt been a published author long enough to realise she is now a ripoffable commodity. | Books Chat Room Similar Conversations |
