consurutte: I am new to this group, but read quite a bit. I not only read in the written form, but listen to them on my MP3 player as well. I am currently reading in print Chesapeake by James Michener. I am about 1/2 way through and love it. I am not sure why I have not read more books by this author. I love historical fiction as well as a good mystery.

CuteOne: Well, "Eldest" by Christopher Paolini. When Im not bogged down by homework, it usually works out that I can get in about 5-10 chapters worth. I can't wait for to read "Brisingir"-- and I hear Paolini is writing a 4th one. Oh, and I am dying to read more Dickens, I have already read 10 of his though. just 5 more i think!

Katz: I'm currently reading Dragonquest by Donita K. Paul. It's book two in a series of five. (with more to come I hear - )

http://www.amazon.com/DragonSpell-Dragon-Keepers-Chronicles-Book/dp/*******234

The main character Kale, who started life as a slave girl of sorts. (more like a public servant with title of slave)

And her quest through a world filled with dragons, elves, dwarfs, and so much more. I'm loving it!
It's simple yet detailed. Perfect for any reader really.

Try that link and you can check it out for yourself - although I recommend buying books off of ebay because it's cheaper - the only downside is your not always giving money back to the author.

Katz: mmmm Twilight is an excellent series. Did you know that Stephanie Meyer started writing that series after having a dream of some sort. (never heard what was in the dream) but she said when she woke up she was inspired and had to write.

I'm almost hoping she does another book but more of a prequel - Perhaps the story of the Quileute wolf pack from the past (the story with the third wife - I believe it is)

There is so much to go off in that series for more books -

Although if she wanted to write a second Host novel I would be ecstatic too! If was such a unique novel, especially with the two dueling main characters.

*sigh*

ladykins: I found an old paperback in a charity shop, its called Timeless Earth and suggests that life on earth goes round in circles. There seems to be evidence that there have been advanced civilisations in the past which were destroyed...then it all started again from scratch.

Bell214
Bell214: The Terror by Dan Simmons — Arctic adventure–dark fantasy novel.
“The Terror” could also be described as a large, ambitious historical novel about one of the most famous disasters of the 19th century: the doomed polar expedition led by Sir John Franklin, which set out from England in 1845 in search of the Northwest Passage — the long–dreamed–of Arctic shipping lane connecting the earth’s two great oceans — and never returned …
