Mine are Laurell K. Hamilton, J.R. Ward, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Angela Knight, and Christine Feehan at the moment.
It changes with my mood. My first fav was David Eddings but have grown out of him. The language seems to be too young for me now.
Dae: Andre Norton and J.R.R.Tolkien are for sure my favourite authors. "Sargasso of space" and "Silmarillion" are my favourite books. I also enjoy Ann McCaffrey and some russian authors too.
techno_hedonist: I always recommend Umberto Eco (The Name of the Rose, The Mysterious Flame of Queen Loana). Ursula LeGuin (A Wizard of Earthsea, The Left Hand of Darkness) and Philip Pullman (The Golden Compass, Clockwork).
Rae_of_Lyte: i like a wide range of genre's so my fav authors are Jack Whyte, Conn Iggulden, Robert Jordan, JK Rowling, Nora Roberts, Jane Austen, Stephen King, too many more to list.
Chaser1024: I'm with t_l_c's opinion on David Eddings. Was my favourite for a while there, but I've grown out of it. Really like the Belgariad series back then. Right now my favourites include people like Terry Goodkind, Michael Chrichton, Robert Ludlum.
ctnkc28: My favorite is Theodore Ayrault Dodge. If you like military history and battle tactics you should check out his books on Alexander and Hannibal.
Mousouheki: I'd have to say my favourite author is David Clement-Davies. He's written some of my favourite books: Fire Bringer, The Sight, and Fell. I also enjoy Alan Campbell, a relatively new author of the books Scar Night and Iron Angel. Both are fantastic.
spikebs: I love the Potter book...they are great escapes. I love the classics, too...The Catcher in the Rye, Virgina Woolfe, and also Jodi Picoult
