hayleydeoliveira91 Hi any car savvy people able to help me??
TheShadowSniper i am good with cars
TheShadowSniper name the car
hayleydeoliveira91 Audi a3
hayleydeoliveira91 55 plate
hayleydeoliveira91 It would be if I didnt have a possible major problem on my hands 🙈
TheShadowSniper im listening
hayleydeoliveira91 So my brother advised me to add more fuel but in doing so overfilled the engine majorly
hayleydeoliveira91 Not fuel sorry
hayleydeoliveira91 Yes not a happy bunny
TheShadowSniper well what kind of oil..
hayleydeoliveira91 So the oil pressure light come on which is no surprise
hayleydeoliveira91 Fully synthetic 5w40
TheShadowSniper hmm.. it overflowed on the engine?
TheShadowSniper was there smoking or did ur exhaust begin to stink?
hayleydeoliveira91 Clouds of white smoke appeared from the exhaust
TheShadowSniper as i figured...
TheShadowSniper crud wow
hayleydeoliveira91 Took it straight to the garage and got it drain and then no white smoke
TheShadowSniper ok so thats good
hayleydeoliveira91 But oil pressure light is still on
hayleydeoliveira91 Could all this bugger the oil pressure switch
TheShadowSniper hmm.. yes if it landed in the right places
TheShadowSniper it could have shorted the pressure light
hayleydeoliveira91 I mean I didnt drive it many miles whilst it was overfilled
hayleydeoliveira91 I have flushed the oil today completely, refilled it and change the oil filter
hayleydeoliveira91 But still the oil pressure light is still on
TheShadowSniper oh well u say u did refill it
TheShadowSniper ok good..
hayleydeoliveira91 So could be the switch??
hayleydeoliveira91 Also the revs, I was told it shouldn't even reach 3000rpm but it does lol
TheShadowSniper u should look under the hood, in the audi… look to the top, nesr the silver ish colored cable snd follow it
TheShadowSniper to the switch
TheShadowSniper make sure u can follow it safely
TheShadowSniper u can b burned so dont touch it
hayleydeoliveira91 I think its located behind the enginge lower down
TheShadowSniper ok well follow it
hayleydeoliveira91 And check for leaks??
TheShadowSniper look for stripped wires.. loose oil anything
TheShadowSniper yes absolutely
TheShadowSniper if there is loose oil it may b bcuz ur oil line is punctured and leaking
hayleydeoliveira91 There was residue at the back of the engine
hayleydeoliveira91 Theres no oil loss from the engine though
TheShadowSniper well then there is something wrong with the switch
TheShadowSniper due to oil probably
hayleydeoliveira91 Yeah been checkin oil on dipstick and not gone down
hayleydeoliveira91 I'm hoping it's the switch
hayleydeoliveira91 The car isn't over heating
hayleydeoliveira91 And is driving fine
TheShadowSniper ok.. its probably the switch
hayleydeoliveira91 Not that I'm driving it for now but I mean to the garage
TheShadowSniper yeah of course
hayleydeoliveira91 Theres no white gunk on the inside of the tank cap
hayleydeoliveira91 So not head gasket
hayleydeoliveira91 And theres nooooooo smoke coming from the exhaust what so ever
hayleydeoliveira91 I think the overfill has frazzled the switch
TheShadowSniper that is probablt it
hayleydeoliveira91 Figers crossed, going to get it changed on Wednesday
