View all 4 posts  zhang sam: i dont care the different between two .now i am preparing for IELTS,so i should pay more attention on british english than american .but to be honest, i dont care this because english is international language , and everyone knows it whatever is different  uft36: Formal English is international.. Americans and British use different words for certain things..The boot is the back end of the car while Americans say trunk of the car. A trunk is also a container for traveling put clothes or whatever in it. British English is more internationally used than American, especially in Europe, India, and the Orient.
