November 10, 2010

I was on an afternoon errand, driving up to St. Helena, a smaller town a bit up valley from here in Napa where I live, and as I was returning, I noticed that the sun, dropping down towards the west as the day was ending, had begun to cast that lovely yellowish tinted sunlight that softens the light and makes for good photographs. I, of course, had my camera with me, and I stopped at Turnbull Vineyards, which were bursting with autumn colors. I found one batch of beautifully colored leaves.

As often happens, there’s a little bit of reflective glare, but otherwise, it’s a pretty decent picture. The one deep red leaf adds a nice bit of contrast to the mostly yellow color of the other leaves.
