SilverDragon66: Thank you to the ones who publicly and privately wished me 'Happy Birthday'. I appreciate your good wishes < hugs >
tamedame: Some times i come by here to check on you ...and immediately think... pfftttt why is he still asleep!
SilverDragon66: Today is "International Happiness Day" - honest, look it up. So you had all better damn well smile or else!
I know I've been a little insular of late, and for that I apologise. When things get difficult for me I don't look for help, I close off. I share the good times, but the bad ones are mine to deal with.
For those of you wondering, I'm not out of the woods yet, but I am glad you are here for me
SilverDragon66: Hmmmm - experimental cooking
Stir fry chicken is currently marinading in honey, soy, and beer. What could possibly go wrong?
SilverDragon66: Hard parmesan 1 - index knuckle 0. At the medical centre getting my knuckle stitched back up...
fallen_butterfly: Thank you for being a true friend, for wanting to listen to my issues and worrying about me. I really do value your friendship.
SilverDragon66: So now it is done - held the wake for my dad. We initially thought we'd find maybe 20 people, ended up with over 100 people coming to 'see him off'. It went well, my kids behaves like perfection - I saw a new side to my 11yo girl.
Now it is time to sit down at home and get my drink on...
SilverDragon66: Well, the registrar finally finally agreed to palliative care for dad, which means he's been prescribed "severe pain medication". Basically enough morphine for him to be calm and drift off peacefully.
For those of you inclined, prayers of a calm passing. For the rest of us, I appreciate the positive vibes.
SilverDragon66: okay - Update
Dad has made it through the day and looks like he'll be better soon. Still not out of the woods, but definitely better
Thank you to all of you who expressed your thoughts, support, and prayers.
SilverDragon66: In case anyone wonders, I'm currently sitting in a hospital ICU waiting for my father to decide if he's going to fight or give in. I'll be happy for him either way
