DEEP dystopia: yes, it was 1333 stock- i had to loosten the timings to overclock the ram. i have actually returned everything to stock speed as of 2 days ago, as the overclockings on the ram and cpu didnt play nicely with virtualization. id rather have cpu virtualization than the overclock, cause i have a fetish fo virtual machines . the cpu has a turboboost up to 4ghz, anyway, and the ram timings are back to stock- so, its all give and take...
DEEP dystopia: began reading f a hayeks "the road to serfdom", and immediately, i was hit with such mixed emotions that i cannot tell whether my tears were of joy or of tragedy. all i know is what i perceived as a sincere attempt of "intellectual honesty", with no regards to how controversial or unpopular the "truth", as hayek saw it, would make him out to be, in the eyes of the "collectivists".

DEEP dystopia: philosophy- the love of knowledge, steeped in the tradition of logic and rational thought. seems tonight i proved an irrationa hatred of anything which remotely suggests an irrational hatred for all things which may lend credence to a higher power, merely by discrediting the traditions of religion and the fallacy of doctrine, through a philosophical take on the fallacies of traditions and doctrine.
as hate begets hate, the room fell into utter chaos,
if philosophers are the self-proclaimed lovers of knowledge, then how is this response a display of the love of all knowledge- or is it merely the love of "aggreable" knowledge?
DEEP dystopia: thank you for amending what was "lost in translation". "logos", which is the root of "logic" also has connotations, lost in translation- generally encompassing a word of significant knowledge and/or power. in other words, logic is a word(s) which carry an idea capable of being applied in a significantly useful manner.
DEEP dystopia: I waited 1 1/2 years to ask a co-worker on a date, in order to avoid any "discomfort" in the workplace. i knew she was interested, but assumed it wisest to let her pursue me.
today, she came in on her day off, and talked and talked to me, while i tried to work and work. i finally had to ask her to let me finish my work in peace, then followed up with "when im done working, we can go out to lunch and talk all you want".
I was up all night working on my resume and application for computer sales at best buy, as i caught the attention of the computing super and the general manager, by inadvertently "selling" $1500 worth of computers while fiddling with the display models. I had to sneak a can of body deodorant past her, apologize for not having even looked at my hair in a mirror that day, for my car being trashed, and for the ac being inoperative.
the date went great, i almost kicked a meth-heads ass over a "hit and run" con, which made me out to be prince valliant
and we talked and talked- as promised. shes a real intellectual, a lover of knowledge and a fellow slavian. we went on for 45 minutes alone on the topic of language families- slavicdialects and cyrrilics, latin and the romance languages- concluding in sharing our mutual disdain for french's superlative spelling.
after the date, i stopped by my dads mechanic's shop to get advice on my ac issues. his sincere advice was "sounds like you had a hot date, and got yourself a real keeper"
DEEP dystopia: this quote needs to be posted in the "undocumented war on whiny, chauvinistic white people" forum thread
