US Army reserves

Imperfect_Perfection
Imperfect_Perfection: I am looking to talk to someone enlisted in the army reserves. I am prior service and considering enlisting in the active reserves. I would prefer to go regular army but they are not accepting prior service at this time. I am well aware recruiters take an oath to lie and will tell you what you want to here to get you to sign up... So please write me back if you are willing to answer a few questions I have. Thanks

Metaverseguy: I was asking about army advice yesterday in the chatroom. He said was part of the DTF unit...

For some reason army reserve and national guard suicide rates nearly doubled in 2010. I'd look into that. Also, search for personal army reserve stories in blogs on google.

Imperfect_Perfection: I am not conserned with personal risk of suicide. I was a mental health spc my first time in. What questions did you have? I might be able to help if you have questions about the regular army.

Metaverseguy: I'm curious what the typical daily activities are, what type of jobs are available, if you need to do boot camp to join if you have prior service, if you can join if you have a service connected disability, and what are the chances of serving in war or dying.

Imperfect_Perfection: Typical daily activities are differ depending on your mos, your superiors, your post. They can't even guarantee you will be working in the job you train for. If you are prior service there is a very small window of time to get back in without redoing basic training and ait. The regular army is not currently accepting any prior service members. I am not sure what the percentage of chance there is for going overseas but it is something you must be willing to do. Yes there is a chance you might die but if you choose a job other than infantry or any other most that is going straight to the front lines the risk is not that much. Death is inevitable no one lives forever. To see what jobs they have you can check out the army website. Not sure of the address but if you Google army jobs you will find a link. Hope this was helpful.
