End of the existence...Mayan prediction of apocalypse in Dec.2012 girlllly: Hi guys!!! Just wanted to know if anyone here believes in apocalypse? =)... Share your comments... medic17: Not me. All this hype reminds me of when the year 2000 was about to hit. Low and behold, we are still here. As I understand this Mayan calendar thing, after this current cycle is over in December of 2012, it repeats itself as it has many times over. Wild__: *End of existence* - nicely worded because even if human do become extinct, Earth will live on. HannahGestalt: i guess the mayans just got tired of writing out the calander when they got to 2012 - got to stop somewhere. girlllly: @medic17:so have u seen the Mayan calendar?I also do not want the world to end. But who knows, maybe this way the sin will end...I mean there is no reason to live in this planet anymore, considering the terrible things happening. I think we should at least give a credit for Mayans bc it is one of fullest developed civilizations back in the past and who detected a diffuse area of the sky contrary to the pin points of stars before the telescope was invented (Edited by girlllly) medic17: @ girlllly I watched a very interesting program on the Mayan calendar and supposed apocalypse on the history channel a few months ago. Showed how it repeats/has repeated before in history. Also explored ways others are making money off of those who believe the world will end in December 2012. Making millions they are... I agree, the Mayans deserve credit for their achievements. I just don't buy into any of this end of the world stuff. august164: Since leap year didnt exist when the mayan calender was made.... December 2012, according to their calender, would have already come and gone..... Hyenablood: wildman they did not sacrifice humans to help their plants grow, it was so they could offer up the blood to their gods. They would pour the blood over their statues as an offering. They ate the heart ( as well as other body parts ) and wore some bones as status symbols. No I do not believe that the world will end this year. notsur3ly: As medic17, the mayan calendar repeats itself. It was something on the 12th or 13th repeat after it ends on Dec 21, 2012. The people who buy into the end of the world are just very very gullible. Circle of Life: Actually, it is right all the astronomy perceptions we hear about, " no total disaster is going to happen to our planet earth anymore ", " physically we will remain steadfast " beside their always playing dumb concerning dates, Mayans people are much more generous and very straightforward . | Work Chat Room Similar Conversations |
