Removed Friends but still see their posts (Page 2)

Tomacco
Tomacco: Ahhh! I see your problem now Merc. Well, I don't know what can be done about that. I have no idea about writing code and how easy/hard it would be to implement a total removal once someone is deleted from ones list! And I certainly have no idea how to make people grow up

i tend to offend: Not sure about the immaturity jab about hiding posts. Some people who have been friended end up leaving multiple, long posts in a short time period. And when you clean up your list and remove them because they never seem to post anything with relevance through all their long-winded posts, their TLDR posts still show up and muddy up your feed even when you are no longer "friends". That's all I'm saying, just seems a bit inconvenient when you run across someone who posts 5+ paragraphs per post & 50 posts a day. Get it? Not sure it really has anything to do with being too immature to hide them.

MercuryDragon: What I meant about immaturity wasn't from the perspective of the one doing the deleting. It was not a "jab". I have no doubt that those who want this to be fixed are mature enough to hide annoying posts. Also, you have an excellent point about the inconvenience of repeatedly having to remove long posts of people you have removed. However, this problem still has everything to do with immaturity and people commenting on posts after they have been deleted.

Let me try to explain it again.

You obviously can't hide your own posts without deleting them and you shouldn't have to delete them because someone rude that you removed has access to your past posts and photos on their feed.

If they were removed for being inappropriate, chances are it is not beneath them to leave nasty comments on your posts that are visible on their feed. I have had this happen before and have seen it happen to other people as well. It happens all the time.

At this point, the only option you have is to either remove the whole post or keep deleting their comments as long as the immature party doesn't click hide on your post (which won't happen if their intent is to stir trouble).

Do you see what I mean now?

MercuryDragon: Basically, it boils down to a matter of privacy no matter how you look at it. Once you remove someone, they shouldn't be able to see your posts on their feed and you shouldn't be able to see theirs.

Empty Pockets: The people I removed can still see my posts? Not cool, not cool at all.

BrandyRose: Yeah I have a major problem with this atm. I hid a post for now..but when its death threats from the person..you DON'T want to see that thru another's post.. OR their updates. I've blocked/deleted this person.

i tend to offend: Actually, one person I removed has recent, current posts that pop up on my feed. That is my issue.

MercuryDragon: Still the same issue pretty much. "Once you remove someone, they shouldn't be able to see your posts on their feed and you shouldn't be able to see theirs."

Though after a few years of this problem being unfixed, I wouldn't cross my fingers on it happening any time soon.

MercuryDragon: Old wire was a platform that had no room for growth. This one is great, the admins just have a lot lined up in their queue. Things like this and the search problem will eventually be fixed, just have to be patient.

BrandyRose: yeah I hate that search people feature ..simply because it doesn't work. But I look at it like this...tons of other features work..so why worry about one or two that don't?

lostnthenight: Then some more pop up, then some more, then some more.... then the issues are so backlogged... it gets annoying... i can see minor things not being fixed, but that search feature is a selling point for a social media site.

MercuryDragon: We get that, but even if going back to the old wire was possible (it isn't) doing so would be much worse than overlooking a selling point like the search bar. For example you couldn't even private message someone unless you found them in a room. No news feed, no games, no lots of things. Yeah it needs to be fixed and it eventually will.

Also, you can search for people by location here which covers most of the issues people have with the search bar. Until then, we can do is wait and enjoy the site as is.
