WHAT IS YOUR BEST TEAM IN FOOTBALL ? (Page 6) ALCAS: Real Madrid, of course: 9 European Championships, 2 Intercontinental Championships, 31 Spanish League. Now playing Kaká (Ballon d'Or and FIFA World Player of the Year awards in 2007), Cristiano Ronaldo (FIFA World Player of the Year and Ballon d'Or in 2008), Casillas (Best goalkeeper in the world),.... steviebaby: glasgow celtic for me.love the atmosphere on european nights.there's not a noise in the world that can come close to it. ALCAS: I'm sorry, I was wrong: I said Real Madrid wons 2 Intercontinental Championships, but the true is 3. I insist: the best team in the history is Real Madrid. And so it's today, with the best players in the world: Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaká, Casillas,... DISC: Manchester City, ive followed them since I knew what football was and have stuck with them even though they won very little whilst our neighbours filled their trophy cabinet. Being a true fan isnt followin a team cos they win all the time,in fact when u lose alot victories are all the sweeter when they happen. Non league football supporters are the true fans and those who support junior football players are the true heart of the game. My son plays at under 11 level and some of the games ive watched his team play have given me more pleasure than watchin so called professionals. There is nothin more heartwarmin than watchin a team get trounced one week to turn it into a victory the next week. People who give their time without reward to coach kids are the heroes in our society and they often get abused by parents who think their child is da next David Beckham. The abuse suffered by referees in our game is unacceptable and must be eradicated by making examples of people like Alex Ferguson and players who openly use dissent. It is time for the authorities to draw a line in the sand which will be acted on if crossed with points deductions rather than fines. Respect starts at the top and will filter down to impressionable youngsters who ape their heroes. oldcoupes: Well, I'm not a football fan nor do I watch it. But since I live here in Tennessee, USA, I will root for the Tennessee Titans when they play. (At the present time, New England is killing them-45 to 0 in the third quarter. WhiteWee: Most football 'fans' don't actually like football. They just jump on the bandwagon because it's popular and they want to belong to the crowd and fit in. I know a few of these people and it's obvious that they just blindly follow the herd so that they have something in common to talk about. If enough people started following tiddlywinks then there would be a run away effect with tiddlywinks becoming the new football. Football has the reputation amongst men as being manly - but when you think about it, football is totally camp. DISC: tiddlywinks, brill,is it on sky sports,an which venue are they usin for da 2012 Olympics, somewhere in da Potteries? Do u need binoculars to spectate, and have they introduced "rim edge" technology yet. Who are the top team, the Flixton Flickers. Do the major egg producers sponsor competitions, like the Egg Cup. Isnt it all in the wrist action, makin it a little bit camp.If u are defendin a lead and make a comeback,is that a counter attack. Are there any offsides? If u miss the counter does that count as an (h)air flick. Are people who make the counters called counter productives. Is there a move where u flick from below known as an "under the counter". If a counter ends up on the rim is it a counter balance. Am I gettin silly now, answer yes. navelofworld: If you don,t like a sport you are'nt a "fan" of it.at todays prices,I don't think thes stadiums are filled with band wagoners tring to fit in.sub freezing temps,o-? records and still we come!Besides, soccer (some say real football)attracts millions but never really caught on here in u.s. like elsewhere | Sports Chat Room Similar Conversations |
