JeanYves72: And you can say that they are not in most places how? Psychic powers? You are grasping at straws with your insistance on using the phone book in your local area as a reference. You need to actually use other sources. I have heard of all these arts in the past 25 years. Far from obscure. And I notice how you ignore the fact that I have mentioned that you are using a reference to your LOCAL phone book as proof. I hope you aren't a lawyer in the future as any client you had would be screwed.

A mature person uses logic based on the facts. You are like a child stubbornly clinging on to a lie even when the truth and evidence shows that they are. lookinside shows way more maturity in the way she presents her facts. Take a leaf out of her book. You may, as I am, learn something.

therocketeer: @lookinside: idk, why? i'm guessing it's a kind of karate. when i was being objective with you you made personal attacks, and now you want to be objective with me? you came on to say that you did it for x long and competed in y state and hold z rank. ok, even if you do, what's your point? and when do i get to make my personal attack?

@jeanyves2: no not psychic powers, just facts. my point is that to someone with no martial arts exposure, those styles are relatively obscure when compared to karate, tkd, and judo. in terms of people that actually practice them, i think it's fair to say that these at least karate and tkd are more popular.

JeanYves72: Geez Rocketeer you just don't get it do you. None of those styles are obscure. Tens of thousands practice these styles you class as obscure daily in your own bloody country. You base your opinion on a local phone book. Really you need to come into the real world. :

therocketeer: like i said, i'm sure i could find 10 karate schools and 10 tkd schools in my area. most people do not have access to the styles which i referred to as obscure ("Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu", "Wushu -northern style and Taijiquan+ QI gong", and "Savate"; page 6 of this topic)

lookinside_2: I asked if you thought Isshinryu was obscure because I know if you look in your phone book that you most likely will have a hard time finding even one Dojo for it. But that is only because of where you live. If you lived on the east coast you would see that it is in phone books everywhere and that it isn't "obscure". You're opinions are so uneducated... but if you want to argue with people because you read a phone book, then go right ahead. we aren't the ones who look stupid

therocketeer: @lookinside: more personal attacks huh? calling my opinions uneducated and saying i look stupid. what you said about the east coast may be true, but that may be only on the east coast. the fact that it is not popular nationwide means it is obscure. so i think we are done on that. i'm sure you can find tkd schools in your area or other styles of karate, but for the other styles i brought up (page 6) it is not likely so.

based on your tone, when you call my opinions educated i think what you really want to do is call someone else uneducated, and you are disguising it as such. you initially made some personal attacks on me, then when you thought you had a point you decided to be objective, which is a hypocrisy on your part. i'm not interested in making personal attacks or statements, nor am i interested in taking them from you. please do not respond to me if you are going to continue that behavior, as i will not be responding to you if you do.

lookinside_2: You're opinions ARE uneducated... that's a fact

Where the fuck did you get your definition of obscure?
therocketeers definition of obscure: "A martial arts system that does not show up in my phone book or in a lot of other phone books"....
yeah... that sounds so smart...
I'm not making personal attacks buddy... I'm just calling it like I see it.

So you mean if I decide to get nasty and attack you verbally, you will not respond anymore? maybe I should try that!

Alright, here it is.... you are a dumb little boy who still lives with mommy and daddy because he can't find a McDonalds to work at listed in his phone book. You sit behind your computer and try to sound smart or intelligent by arguing about a topic you have no valid information on.
Do you also want to argue on what it's like to have a vagina? You might as well debate with me on something else you have had NO experience with.

JeanYves72: Bwahahahaha...Now that was a K.O right there from lookinside. He does have experience though, via magazines. But that makes him an expert even though he has no personal experience just like in martial arts.

Rocketeer mate, unless you can get out of your musty basement in your parents place and come into the real word you really need to give up on this as everytime you post you are only proving lookinside right in her observations about you here. To insist that you are right with your only reference being a phone book, a local one, is just plain hand on your cock thinking. What about in the middle of the country. The Bujinkan has tens of thousands of students, as has isshin Ryu, Aikido, Taijiquan, Wushu, and many others which you would say were 'obscure' because they aren't in a phone book.

And the young lady is right...she has been making, from what I can see, sound observations on your arrogance in making comments on a subject that you know nothing about based on who decided to advertise in a phone book in your area. FFS man... Have the brains to walk away with tail between your legs because you cannot win this and the more you reply the more you are going to be slapped down by the young lady. She knows what she is talking about. Can back it up with practical knowledge and experience.

therocketeer: @lookinside: i think you are uneducated because you're standard of uneducated is someone is misinformed or has made a mistake. you mentioned the east coast example which i proved as wrong since the fact that isshinryu is not popular nationwide does make it obscure. you took someone's response which you thought was wrong and turned it into an opportunity to put someone down, rather than having a mature discussion.

you have contradicted yourself by posting and then wanting that i not respond. unless of course, in your world, you would rather say what you want to say and not hear the other person's point of view, which is what it seems like to me.

@jeanyves72: you're not really making a point here, but not quite personal attacks, all i can say is the fact that tens of thousands may practice it doesnt mean it isn't obscure. people have heard of karate but not necessarily isshinryu. you mention in the middle of the country, well if it isn't practiced nationwide then it is obscure.

JeanYves72: You are uneducated because you are not willing to learn from more knowledgable people. Insist on a train of thought that is proven to be flawed. You base a phone book as you proof ignoring the fact that both me and lookinside have so much more experience and knowledge. How can anyone have a mature discussion with a child? And you have the mindset of a child even though my 7 year old knows when he is beat. lol She tried to have a mature discussion yet all you have to say is that because they are not in your local phone book they are obscure.

How do you know that Isshin ryu is not practiced nation wide? And when I mentioned the middle of the country I was talking about the fact that you have no knowledge of it there. Not that it isn't. We have heard your point of view and have pointed out it's flaws and yet you refuse to move from you grossly stupid viewpoint. Narrowminded and showing no intelligence at all. You logic on what is the meaning of an obscure martial art is based on your own narrow and short sighted view on the world. Just around you. Just your country. There are many countries. So pull your head out of your arse, hand of your dick, and look at what you are typing and how foolish it is.

JeanYves72: And the facts are what? That someone who had no experience in martial arts and gets all of his 'knowledge' on the popularity of a martial art by his local phone directory is trying to debate the martial arts with a man who has been doing martial arts longer than you have been alive and someone else who has shown that they have more knowledge and insight in the subject than most of my peers in the arts. So how about you pull your head out of your arse, hand of your tweezers and dick, and realise that you are only showing the people who read this just how much of a fool you are by insisting that you are right in your thinking because of a bloody phonebook of your local area.

therocketeer... it's fine if you don't agree, you are the one who is going to remain ignorant not me or JeanYves. Maybe you should open your eyes and realize when two legit people are trying to tell you, you are wrong on a topic you have no background on.
